Bright, open-plan single-family home in award-winning Haile Plantation. Large, modern kitchen, screened porch, quiet location near grocery store, restaurants and park. All the comforts of home, 20 minute drive from UF campus and downtown.
High ceilings, over-sized windows, and comfortable furnishings make this a welcome get-away. The fully stocked kitchen is open to the living and dining spaces, forming a beautiful "great room". Spacious master suite has queen bed and luxury bath with separate two-person tub and shower. The other two bedrooms share another full bathroom, and are furnished for our children; one has two twins set up as a bunkbed, and the other is a small playroom with optional CordaRoy queen sleeper. Huge, bright front room is furnished as an office/bedroom with a daybed that turns into a comfortable king bed (yes it really is comfortable!). This home can sleep up to 8 people in the beds described above, ideally a max of four adults plus teens or younger kids. For each guest above four people we charge an extra $15 per night. Due to neighborhood parking restrictions, guests may not park more than three cars at the house. Note that this is a primary residence, and requires booking at least 7 days in advance.
Haile Plantation is a gorgeous award-winning planned community filled with lush north Florida foliage (live oaks and Spanish moss) and many amenities. The nearby Haile Town Center has boutiques, several restaurants, an English pub and a coffee shop in a walkable, vacation-like setting. Guests may borrow our bikes to enjoy the wooded bike trails, and watch movies or popular TV shows on our flat-screen TV via streaming Netflix and Hulu Plus.
Interaction with Guests
We are generally out of town already when guests arrive. I prepare the house and provide information about how to enter.
Other Things to Note
Guests must book at least 7 days in advance to allow us to make all the necessary arrangements. We strongly prefer guests with reviews from other AirBnB hosts.
No smoking anywhere on the property, and no pet visitors, please. This is a peaceful, quiet neighborhood. We expect our visitors to be relatively quiet after 9:00 pm out of respect for our neighbors.
Two couples stayed in the Henderson home for two nights during UF Homecoming weekend.
The home was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Katherine was in constant contact. We found her to be friendly, accommodating, cordial, and truly delightful.
We would highly recommend this lovely home in a fabulous upscale neighborhood.
Katherine and her family have a beautiful home. She was very clear in her detailed instructions to us, so we were well prepared. There was plenty of sleeping room for everyone in our party and we are thankful to Katherine and her family for providing us the with the ideal house for a group/family weekend getaway. There was no way we could have had a similar experience at a hotel. The neighborhood is suburban, very quiet and family-oriented. Haile Village, which has restaurants and shops, and a Publix are nearby.
Our stay at Katherine's home was perfect! This being the first time I used Airbnb I expected it to be complicated and a complete roll of the dice. Katherine made the whole experience very easy and enjoyable. She was very responsive, provided detailed instructions, had very reasonable rules and her home was very lovely. My entire group wants to do the same trip again soon because it all went so smoothly and we were all so comfortable. I would highly recommend staying at Katherine's.
Myself and my group had a great stay at the Henderson's house this past weekend. Katherine was a great host, and answered any questions I had before and during my stay. She responded to my texts/emails often and quickly, which I find very important. All of the beds were made up and there were clean towels awaiting us. There was a clear and concise list of things to take care of before leaving(stripping the beds and taking out the trash) and we had no problem doing them. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a short stay in Gainesville; I know next time I'm in town I am going to talk with Katherine again about her place.
The Henderson home was lovely and just as described. We had a great stay here for the UF/FSU weekend. Thanks for making a college reunion possible!
