It was a wonderful experience staying at Elaine's place. She greeted us upon arrival and even left snacks in the fridge and table for us. That was such a sweet personal touch. It is a lovely and spacious area with beautiful sunrise. It gets cold at night and we appreciate the extra blankets left in the cardboard. I would definitely recommend you to stay over for at least two nights so you can visit the waipo valley, do some horseback riding/ ATV and drive 15 mins to an old town to enjoy ono food at grandma's kitchen.
Owners sent a welcome email with helpful tips about their neighborhood before we arrived. Then they met us upon arrival and made sure we were comfortable. Their studio was exactly as advertised; plenty large for two of us, private, and well stocked with thoughtful items for the kitchen and bath. Very clean. Easy parking for our vehicle. With windows open, can hear koki frogs at dusk, plus goats, cows, and I think roosters as well, and can see the ocean if it is not foggy. Was the perfect spot for hiking down to see the Waipio valley, Tex drive in, and Honoka'a.
Elaine and Stanley's place is one of our favorite places we've ever stayed at through airbnb. It's in a great location - it's literally down the street maybe a half mile from the Waipi'o valley look out (we walked there one morning). Everything was clean and comfortable. The view of the ocean is beautiful, and the studio has all the amenities you need while enjoying this corner of the Big Island. Elaine's communication before our stay was very responsive, making sure we had directions and knew where to park. Thank you Elaine and Stanley!
Elaine and Stanley were great and very sweet hosts! They made sure we were comfortable after our arrival and they provided everything we could need, in this cozy and pleasant studio!
The location is fantastic , you literally wake up listening to birds an seeing the ocean from your window in the kitchen area! A plus to stay here, the proximity to Waipio Valley, if you want to explore Waipio and this side of the island!
My boyfriend and I loved it, and we would definitely recommend it, and would stay here again in a next visit!
My son and I enjoyed staying at this fabulous studio! It was in the perfect location for us to explore Waipi'o Valley. Elaine and Stanley were very warm and welcoming. They made everything so convenient, including the check in and check out process. We would definitely recommend their place to others.
Hosts were very friendly. Neighbour was quaint. Very remote location but I knew that going in.
We loved the very nice and bright studio with Ocean View. Elaine greeted us the morning after our first night and made us feel very welcome. She also gave us helpful information upfront how to find it and where to buy groceries and find restaurants on the way to the apartment. Also the check in was easy and flexible, the room was open and we could let ourselves in as we arrived. The location is perfect to trips to Waipio Valley. We would definitely stay there again.
Thank you for that perfect place to stay for our wonderful vacation.
About the Host, Elaine
My husband and I own a vacation rental unit and have it listed here on AirBNB. It's so fun meeting all the new and interesting people who stay at our VR. Hosting has been a great experience for us.
I retired from my career job about 5 years ago but continue to keep busy with a part-time job. In my spare time, I can be found at my computer watching a Korean Drama or playing an interactive game.
Needlework, macrame, and card making are some of my hobbies. Have always loved crafting and creating new things then selling them at craft fairs.
Who doesn't enjoy travel, huh. I just love it and my favorite destination is Las Vegas.
