The condo is situated in Escazu, an upscale suburb of the capital city of San Jose, easily accessible from both international and domestic airports, and only a short bus or cab ride away from downtown San José, as well as most of the entire metro area.
The condo is quite spacious (3000 square feet) and includes 3 bedrooms. The large master bedroom has a king-sized bed and a large on suite bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub, while the other two rooms both have queen sized beds and a shared bathroom between them.
There is also a family room with cable TV, a large living room area, dining room, full kitchen, washroom, and a covered parking space large enough for two vehicles.
The space is perfect for a whole family, and adequate for up to three couples (though due to the shared bathroom between two of the bedrooms, it is probably most comfortable if the couples are friends rather than complete strangers).
Guests have access to the kitchen, cable TV, wireless internet throughout the house, and secure parking.
Additionally, the most upscale shopping districts in Costa Rica are within walking distance (or a very short drive), including Multiplaza, Avenida Escazu, and Plaza Tempo. Supermarkets, Pricesmart, and Walmart are also only minutes away, as is Cima, the most renown private hospital in Costa Rica.
The only restriction is that you keep your activities within the condo, unless of course you are actually leaving the grounds. There is no outside/yard space. Also, noise levels should be toned down after about 10pm on weekdays and after 1am on weekends as a courtesy to the neighbors.
For maximum privacy, the space is yours throughout your stay and will generally not be visited by me unless there is some sort of a problem that is necessary to sort out. I am, however, available by phone, email, etc. in the event of questions, emergencies, local travel advice or assistance required, etc. I am happy to share my knowledge of the country to help you plan your itinerary if that is useful to you and can arrange airport pickup, shuttle service, car rental, sightseeing excursions, as well as all transportation and reservations of all kinds.
The house will, however, be visited by our maid once per day for general cleaning unless you specifically request no maid service.
Ideally situated as far as the metro area is concerned. The neighborhood is upscale, safe, quiet, and conveniently located close to the nicest shopping districts in the country including Avenida Escazu, Plaza Tempo, and Multiplaza. It is also close to Walmart, Pricesmart, and several Supermarkets. Nearby restaurants abound.
The closest Escazu bus stop is about a 15 minute walk away, from which you can catch a bus either to San Jose, to the further reaches of Escazu, or to Santa Ana. If you like to walk, most of the attractions in Escazu are within walking distance. If you are sedentary, however, a taxi can pick you up right in front of the house and take you to one of the many interesting places nearby.
I wish to thank you for your kind words. The single best advice that Richard provided me prior to my trip was about obtaining a pre-paid phone. So I followed his suggestion and brought to Costa Rica my cell phone and had Celo phone company place their chip in it for $5.00 and activate it. I then purchased minutes to use. This proved to be an indispensable tool. Richard townhouse is in an upscale neighborhood of Escazu. Richard rents out rooms from this 3 bedroom townhouse to travelers like myself. The neighborhood is super safe. It so happened that when I booked there were no other renters so I had the whole house to myself. So if you appreciate a totally self-directed vacation and accommodations. Book your room with Richard you won’t be disappointed.
This is a really awesome place to stay, and Rick is an excellent host. I effectively had a whole condo to myself in the heart of Escazú, a very short walk from Avenida Escazú. I felt welcomed, trusted, safe, and at home. I highly recommend staying here. I will return.
