My beautiful apartment is idyllically located in the foothills of the Taurus mountains above the seaside village of Kalkan and therefore has the advantage of being peaceful with spectacular views of the bay, cooling sea breezes, and yet within easy reach of all the amenities. It is luxuriously appointed and very spacious – as large as most 2 bedroom villas. The decor is contemporary and bright but relaxing and comfortable. There are only 4 properties on the development sharing the large, 9 metre pool and beautiful mature gardens. Each property has its own private entrance and you will have a real feeling of privacy here.
Sunny, open plan living/kitchen/dining area with comfortable seating. French doors lead onto 3 balconies overlooking Kalkan bay and surrounding mountains. Free wireless access with UK TV. Plenty of DVDs, CDs, books and board games. Air conditioning.
Bedroom 1 with king sized bed, French doors onto the private garden terrace and mature garden.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds.
Both have plenty of wardrobe and drawer storage, air conditioning, mosquito nets, large mirrors and hairdryers.
Family bathroom with shower. Additional cloakroom. Both have shaver points and mirrors and constant hot water
Fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and small electrical appliances. Lots of cupboard space and cutlery and crockery for 6. Everything to make cooking at home relaxed and stress-free.
Fresh, cotton bedding and large, soft Turkish towels changed weekly when the apartment is cleaned. Blankets and quilts for cooler nights. Rubbish is collected daily and the pool and gardens maintained daily. Beach towels are provided if you need them.

I will not be in the property during your stay, but may be local or in Istanbul with my married daughter. We have a competent English speaking site manager to deal with any problems if I am not available.
Kalkan is a little hidden gem – an upmarket destination with great charm and untouched by mass tourism. The old village has narrow winding (traffic free) streets with old Greek houses covered in bougainvillea.
You can't talk about Kalkan without talking about food. It is famous for its great number and variety of restaurants which offer some of the best dining in Turkey. You can eat on one of the many rooftops overlooking the bay and islands, or a restaurant on the stunning Kalkan harbour. There are also many budget lokantas in Kalkan providing excellent value for money and good local cuisine. You will be spoilt for choice.
Take away services are available, especially for pizzas and Turkish pides, but also Indian and Chinese food.
Kalkan has several banks and supermarkets and a Thursday market. It also has shops selling quality goods and gifts. Akbel has a very good Sunday market.
There are fascinating Lycian archeological sites within easy travelling distance. The Greek island of Meis is not far away. Local travel agents provide trips to these and other places of interest.
Taxis are plentiful and local buses are available. I can arrange car and scooter rental for your stay.
The village is 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive. Patara is 20 minutes by car or bus. Kas is 30 minutes by car or bus. Fethiye market is 60 minutes by car or bus. Many Lycian archelogical sites are within easy reach.
The bus station is only 10 minutes walk away but a bus stop on the route to Kas is only 5 minutes walk.
The local beach is a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive away.
Kalkan has several beach clubs which are accessible by free boat from the harbour or taxi ride. All offer sunbeds, umbrellas, cafe facilities and water sports and activities.
Patara beach, which is reputed to be one of the best in the world and a stunning stretch of sand, is approximately 20 minutes by car or bus. There are other remote and beautiful beaches accessible by car.
There is a mini market and restaurant 5 minutes walk away. Larger supermarkets are 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive away.
Times of arrival and departure can be flexible, depending on previous and following guests.
For part of the year the apartment is my main home so is extremely well maintained, furnished and equipped.
A comprehensive welcome pack is provided and basics such as washing powder, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls etc. are provided for the duration of your stay.
The property has a massive back-up water tank and there has never been any problems with water supply.
