Private bedroom and use of whole bottom floor with private entrance through garage. Walking distance to Camp Randall and UW campus and 1 mile from the Capitol and downtown Madison. Also: access to a small yoga studio. Listed by two easy-going 30-something renters who love meeting new people.
Our house is in the heart of the Dudgeon Monroe neighborhood, one of the best places to live in Madison. There are some great spots nearby including Vic Allen's coffee shop, Brasserie V Pub, Trader Joe's for groceries, New Orleans Take Out and a breakfast favorite of Madisonians: Mickey's Dairy Bar. We are walking distance to the stadium for anyone who is coming in for a football game and close to downtown for anyone who is in Madison on business. Shawn (my fiancé) and I are very flexible - he can stay up late to let people in at any hour.
Guests have a private entrance through the garage, private use of the entire bottom floor of the house, a private bathroom with a shower, access to a small fridge and on-site laundry for a small fee.
Interaction with Guests
We are happy to interact with guests and are also happy to give them space and privacy if that works better. We go out frequently to get dinner or attend events and guests who like to mingle are invited to come with us if and when we do.
It's the best neighborhood in Madison!
Bus stop that picks up every 15 minutes during business hours is one block away. Bike path that goes downtown is right across the street.
My home is my sanctuary. Please respect it as if it was your treasure, too.
This was my second time staying at Katie's and again had a good experience. The entrance to the space is private and you have more than enough space to spread out and the bed is very comfortable. You are in the basement, so you can hear footsteps and them talking upstairs, which doesn't bother me but may for some. Great location, easy street parking and easy access to most anything you need. I will stay here again!
Katie's basement was serene, exactly what I needed on this stay. A quiet home in a quiet neighborhood, but close to all that Madison has to offer. Clean, spacious, and warm. The only negative, being a basement, was having no windows to know what the weather was like.
Katie was a great host, room was comfortable, couldn't have been happier.
Loved the place and it was it a great location! Katie has wonderful taste and the basement bedroom and living area was peaceful and inviting.
Katie was very prompt in her correspondence with us. Her "retreat" is just that, we felt welcome and safe as soon as we arrived. The location is ideal for us, looking forward to staying again.
Katie's place was my first Airbnb in Madison - and in the future, I wouldn't consider anywhere else. The accommodation was both cozy and comfortable, not to mention Katie's calm energy made my week-long stay all the more enjoyable.
didn't actually get to meet Katie as she was away while i was in Madison, but she was very easy to communicate with via both email and txt and made it clear she was always available to contact.
you have your own entrance to the basement level where you have a large bedroom, living room and bathroom with walk in shower all to yourself. The house is situated in a quiet street. would be happy to recommend Katie as a host.
