Our romantic two-bedroom apartment will transport you to the many places we have traveled around the world while you remain mere steps from all of Silver Lake's loveliest and liveliest spots.
You could hide in this cozy, romantic apartment for days on end, sipping your morning coffee with a view of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.
But since the very best thing about this apartment is its fantastic location, why not head to one of Silver Lake's trendiest coffee shops -- Casbah, Intelligentsia, or Lamill, all within a 5-minute walk? You're lucky. While the apartment is built on a hill it's not way up in the hills, so you can use all those beautiful staircases in the area for fun and not necessity. Later in the day, you can hit a trendy boutique, outstanding restaurant or bar just steps away in both directions down Sunset. Fancy a snack, like grilled cheese sandwich or a gorgeous cupcake? This spot's got you covered, there are award-winning shops for both right on the corner!
Want to explore LA by car? The (phone number hidden), and 134 are all less than 10 minutes' drive.
The apartment itself is both sophisticated and homey -- filled with the fruits of our world travels. It feels hipster, but for grown-ups. You can easily cook up and host a dinner for six or just lay back and watch TV on the huge screen all day. Up to you, no pressure!
The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with plush linens for some excellent snoozing. The second bedroom can be used either as a second sitting area, office with giant chalkboard, or we can set up the excellent extra-tall queen aeromattress that looks and feels like a real bed when it's all done up with a homey mattress topper and comforter. The apartment easily fits four people, with no couch-crashing.
Of course, since you're probably here to enjoy the best weather in LA, we also have a little patio right outside the front door. Ideal for catching a couple of rays before the sun sets on another gorgeous California day.
Our home is your home during your stay. Play in the kitchen or flop on the couch and watch Hulu Plus or Netflix to your heart's content. We have one reserved parking space available for guests and -- rare in LA -- there aren't many parking rules in the area if you need more street parking.
Interaction with Guests
We'll be there to give you keys, give the best tips for what to see and where to eat (the most important thing, really) and available via phone for questions during your stay.
Silver Lake is the perfect area to experience a slower, more neighborhoody and definitely more delicious LA. The best way to see the area is on foot -- up and down our famed staircases, around the reservoir, and in and out of some of the best stores and restaurants in the city. Or pick up some fresh organic food at the local farmer's market and whip up a meal of your own at home.
The 2 and 4 buses let off just a block away from the apartment, on Sunset.
Other Things to Note
The stairway leading up to our apartment affords us amazing views and is tame by Silver Lake walking standards -- the equivalent of a second floor walk-up apartment. But if you don't do stairs, this place probably isn't for you.
While we love love love them, we sadly can't accept children under 12 or pets.
People with severe dog allergies should know that this isn't the place for them, since we have a dog that also calls this place home. She made a cameo in a few of the photos!
Smoking isn't permitted inside the house but you're welcome to use the patio.
We stayed for a month in Victoria’s apartment, and felt very comfortable and at home there. The apartment is spacious, and there’s a second bedroom with a good-sized desk in it that my husband was able to use as an office (since no one was sleeping in it, we asked Victoria not to set up the blow-up bed, but it was available in a closet if we needed it). I used my computer at the ample kitchen table, so we had some separation from one another, which never hurts. Also, the location is – as Victoria says – ideal. It’s an easy walk to a number of coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques of various sorts, and even a large 99 cent store, where we were able to buy many things to make our stay go smoothly, from scissors to extra socks. In short, a fine place for a relaxed stay in Silver Lake.
Victoria and Layla were very easy to get a hold of and made us feel very welcome at the apartment. They even gave us a list of recommended restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. It was a wonderful spot in a perfect location and helped make our stay in LA a great vacation!
Loved staying at Victoria's home in Silver Lake. Great location! Bed was super comfy. Having the apple TV was a huge plus. Looking forward to our next visit.
Victoria ' s place was perfect. Great location and the parking spot was a plus. The living room was fantastic which included apple tv. The two bedrooms were just perfect, and also towels were provided. Overall, a wonderful experience. Thank you so much. Would go back for another visit.
Nice place, good location, has everything needed for everyday use, bowls, pots, shampoo, tv, appletv, wifi. Overall fun experience.
We absolutely loved staying for almost 2 weeks in Victoria and Jon's apartment! We were met on the first day by their lovely friend Diego, who had set up the netflix etc for us. The sofa in the living room is ridiculously comfortable, which is perhaps why we watched so much Netflix (sorry, for skewing it towards One Tree Hill...). Both the bedrooms were good sizes and they had provided towels for us too.
We loved the neighbourhood and particularly liked Millies for Brunch, Lark for cupcakes, Song for thai food and the Haywood for the most amazing grilled cheese. Early morning walk to Echo Park and Los Feliz for exploring was pretty nice too! Also hiked up the ridiculously steep Micheltorena Street and there are some pretty good views of dtla through the trees!
Had a great time, thanks so much!
My husband and I had the best stay at Victoria's! Stunning place with treasures in every corner. Truly a best location in exciting Silver Lake which now is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in LA. We had a car so couldn't be happier about the parking spot in front of the apartment. Then again in Silver Lake you can just take a short walk and be surrounded by lovely cafes, restaurants (try Rambutan Thai!) and second hand stores. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you Victoria!
