Comfortable and clean home. Convenient location in Mill Valley. Delightful host. I plan to go back.
We stayed at Nancy's for one night and it was fantastic. She was very welcoming and was more than happy to help is with any questions we had about the area. Her home was very clean and the bed comfortable. Prior to the visit, Nancy was very responsive regarding any questions that we had and provided a wonderful email welcoming us and provided all the information we needed to know before we arrived. This was our first airbnb experience and will certainly do it again after our great stay with Nancy!
Nancy is a most gracious and kind host, and the living space more than reflects that. I felt a sense of calm wash over me just walking through the doorway. I was absolutely thrilled to learn that she has a cat, that too one that looks almost identical to one of my own cats! We felt so close to nature out on the back patio. The kitchen is just beautiful. We didn't get a chance to use the hot tub, but it sure looked tempting!
I'd love to stay with you again, Nancy - thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience your wonderful home!
The good news: The room and home are lovely and very clean, the location is perfect for Mill Valley - with easy freeway and coastal access.
The bad news: Although promoted as dog-friendly it is not. The host knew we were bringing our dog from the very beginning and I even commented to her that my dog would be happy sleeping on the floor with me (since I was going to sleep on a futon). Although it is clear that she thought that she had communicated to me that my dog would not be allowed in the house, her communication was not at all clear about that, and easily misinterpreted. She never said 'guest's dogs are not allowed in the house". When the host saw my dog in the house she became very upset, grabbed my dog's collar and dragged her 3-4 feet out the back door. Immediately, my dog attempted to come inside to me as the host was closing the door and my dog was caught as the door slammed into her. I was in shock. We were lucky my dog was not injured and the host was lucky that she was not bitten. We were prepared to leave and find a hotel, but the host said that she would make an exception "just this once". So we stayed, but it was all very upsetting. Nothing was said about the dog restrictions when I made the reservation, and only one cryptic comment about her own small dog being allowed in the house was made just a few days before my arrival. Even if her comment had been clear, finding out that my dog was not welcome just days before the reservation would have been a problem. In addition, there is nothing in the "house rules" section of her web site that says this as well.
One other problem we had was that there was almost no hot water in the bathroom. No hot water in the sink and barely any in the shower. I do not know if this was a temporary problem since we did not see the host after we had our showers, so we had no chance to ask her.
I will say that later in the evening, the host was very solicitious, asking what she could do for our comfort and happy to provide for all of our bedding needs.
lisa this is not true at all. i have been a pet sitter for 5 years and immediately request dogs go out side due to unfamiliar territory and often peeing on the floors. no one else has had communication with me when they stayed and understood there dogs were not to bi inside. alot of dogs have stayed but slept in the garage.
hot water in bathroom? that is really not true. the water heater is 4 years old and never been an issued.
im sorry that you have completely misinterrupted my requests, my interaction with you dog and how i run all my dog care. If it had been an issue why did you not communicate to me any and all of the above.?
Sadly, we had a busy schedule in the area, and were not able to meet Nancy. But, all her directions were clear, and she worked with our needs to come in late. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. Her home is very nice, the neighborhood is quaint, right off the beaten path. We had a wonderful experience, and wouldn't hesitate to contact her for a hiking get away in the Marin woods, it was beautiful there. Thanks again Nancy, and wish we could have met in person.
Nancy's place is surrounded by trees, in a quiet neighborhood, yet very convenient. The decor, as pictured, is peaceful and comfortable. Nancy is anxious to make every guest feel comfortable and happy. When I was there though, there were plumbing problems, people arriving very late at night, different dogs and people appearing and departing, without any warning of these things, so I found it hard to settle in and relax. But I think all these things were circumstantial, temporary and couldn't be helped. And Nancy tried to remedy problems immediately when I brought them to her attention. My cell phone didn't work there, surprisingly, since there's nothing remote about the location. Nancy was able to notify someone so I could get service through a satellite connection. So, if you stay there, I recommend you let Nancy know your cell phone number in advance so she can set that up for you.
We stayed at Nancy's for just one night, but enjoyed our stay very much. As advertised, her home is very sunny and bright. The room we stayed in was cozy, spacious, and the bed was comfortable. There was no breakfast served here, something we had become accustomed to at our other airbnb stays. The house is in a quiet neighborhood within easy access to Mill Valley and Sausalito. Nancy was a good hostess and fun to talk to. We also enjoyed spending time on the patio and in the hot tub. Her cat and dog are very sweet and well behaved.
Nancy kindly accommodated our last minute request. We arrived late and left early so we had little interaction with the host but she was kind enough to call us a taxi in order to go into town for a late dinner. The room was comfortable and clean.
Nancy's house is in a great location a short drive from Sausalito. Nancy was very helpful in recommending places to eat and was friendly.
Nancy (email hidden) and provided lots of helpful information which made this a memorable stay. The location is quiet and peaceful and conveniently located for hikes, runs, or cycling in Marin county.
