Welcome to House on the Lagoon Guest Suite in Victoria's beautiful Colwood area. A spacious house at the end of a no through road by the water. Quiet, serene setting, beautiful front garden, ocean and lagoon view. Five bedrooms with comfortable, brand name beds and open style common area with fully equipped kitchen. Large deck with a patio table and umbrella, accessible from the kitchen and one of bedrooms. Kayak on the Lagoon or simply spend a day at the beach.

UPDATE NEW COVID 19 Cleaning and Disinfecting
After the guests departed, we open all windows and leave the house to ventilate for at least one hours, and we keep them open during our cleaning.
Our cleaning has been pretty trough already, however now we do additional sanitizing steps after cleaning.After cleaning is done, we spray all surfaces with a proper disinfectant, let it soak for 15 minutes and then wipe everything with paper towels.
We use diluted bleach on hard surfaces and alcohol on soft surfaces and other surfaces that can’t be bleached. Special attention is given to doorknobs, light switches, faucet handles, remotes and other frequently touched objects. Our cleaners work in protective gloves, masks and glasses.
We wash all bedding including pillows and blankets in the very hot water after each guests. We machine wash and disinfect our cleaning cloths.

We really would like our guests to keep our house clean and take your outdoor shoes off. Please remember we want you stay safe and healthy.

The place we offer is the main (second) floor and one bed room, one bath room on the first floor of our house. The rest of the first floor is not available for guests.

PLEASE NOTE:
We need access to fist floor and garage once in a while, so our driveway should be available for us (we have separated entrance). This shouldn't be a problem because there is plenty of parking in front of the house. You can use our driveway during 10 pm - 8 am.

A saltwater lagoon located at the base of the Royal Roads property, next to the Fort Rodd Hill / Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites and a view across Esquimalt Harbour at Dockyard.
Birding at Esquimalt Lagoon. Do not forget to look up too. You may sight a Belted Kingfisher sitting quietly on a branch and, either stalking the shorelines or perched high in the evergreens, you may see a number of Great Blue Herons.

We love our city, and we will be happy to give you information about Victoria BC.
We also love America, this is best place in the world, but Europe and Middle East will always have a special place in our hearts.

Once per year we volunteer about one month during the winter, so we can be out of country, but our daughter Sara takes care about our house and guests.

The number one attraction near the house is the Hatley Castle, one of only few castles in Canada.
It is now a home to the Royal Roads University. You can go around and visit the castle grounds, which are very beautiful. There is a gate that is open during the day time to get inside the fenced garden. It's the one closest to the castle.
To get there, you walk up the Portsmouth Drive and turn right on Heatherbell Rd. Go to the end of heatherbell, and as soon as you crossed a little bridge, there going to be a gate with the number G6 on it. Behind the gate, you will find a trail that will take you up to an intersection of trails, where you take the right one and it will lead you to the castle and grounds. It takes about 15 to walk there.

You can also take a walk on the beach. It's beautiful out there. You can see ships, including cruise ships.
The lagoon itself is a place to watch birds, including blue herons, polar geese, and others.
To get to the beach, you walk up Portsmouth and turn left on Matilda. Follow Matilda until you come to the closed gate, just go around it and after about 50 meters take a trail on your left that will lead you to the Lagoon Rd and the beach. It's only 10 minutes walk.
