I have a lovely, large apartment on the ground level of my house. It's newly remodeled and has views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Very private and quiet, bright and light. You'll have the place to yourself, but if you need anything, I live upstairs!
(Before I go on with description, I will tell you that I am interested in a long term renter, which means 6 weeks to 3 months, within the period of December, 2014, through March 2014. Dates are somewhat flexible. Special pricing will be offered for that time period.)
There's a new smart TV with cable and Netflix, WIFI, stereo CD player and FM/AM radio. The apartment is comfortable and cozy, with books, magazines, and whatever else I might think of. The bed is a comfortable queen size bed with a foam topper, cozy comforter and all cotton linens. The bathroom has a nice stack of all cotton towels.
I've lived in Seattle a long time and can help arrange activities and suggest destinations. There's really so much to do that you'll probably have to narrow it down. If you are looking for outdoor activities, there are many hiking trails in the two close by mountain ranges (The Olympic Mountains to the West and the Cascade Mountain Range to the East). If you head east you can visit the rain forest and the ocean! North to beautiful country and farmlands, and after 1 1/2 hours, Canada! To the south there's Tacoma (45 minutes) with many great museums, and southeast to Mount Rainier.
Seattle is known for it's theater scene, live music and restaurants. Too many to enjoy in a short visit, but you'll have your pick. Right here in the West Seattle neighborhood, within one mile there are many restaurants, bars, shops, live theater.
Small kitchen with 2 burner cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster. If you have special needs, please let me know in advance.
Farmer's market 1 mile away, every Sunday.
Bathroom has a single stall shower (no bathtub). All sheets, towels, paper supplies for kitchen and bath supplied, as well as towels and bed linens.
If you have a very little one with you, there is a portable crib and high chair available for your use.
(Please note: the form I fill out in order to list this requires "number of bedrooms", so I enter "1". It is really one very large area divided into various spaces. There is also an extra large closet/storage room with window.
!/4 mile walk to one of the largest parks in Seattle, with lots of beach access and a salt water swimming pool (open through Labor Day. One mile to an area of shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. Downtown Seattle is about 7 miles.
The public transportation is a bus system. There are two bus lines that come quit close to my house. They can take you downtown, or elsewhere. There is a water taxi that takes 10 to 15 minutes from West Seattle to downtown Seattle. You can check it out here:

I created the kind of space I would be happy to stay in, so I hope you will be happy here too.
Exactly what we wanted. A private space that felt like we were locals, a great view and a nice-sized bed. Harriet was very welcoming. She gave us a quick tour of the space, handed us our keys and then left us to enjoy our space. The apartment is spacious and has a big kitchen area with a two-burner range, microwave, refrigerator, pots/pans, utensils and dishware. Cable tv and wireless is also available. We'd definitely stay again.
Place had a nice view. Bed was a really soft futon. Apartment could of been a lot cleaner. Overall not impressed. Air b&b is a pain to use. Much prefer (website hidden) and flipkey.
I'm sorry you didn't like your visit. The bed is not a futon. It is a queen size mattress, quite new, with a foam top, which could be removed if someone thought it was too soft. People seem to like it (see Adam's review below).
The apartment was completely cleaned, as it always is after a guest leaves. I don't know how it could have been "a lot cleaner". All surfaces were cleaned. All floors washed. Lots of clean towels and of course, clean bedding. Refrigerator cleaned. The bathroom scrubbed. Since you had already asked about staying again in the near future (next week), I think perhaps you were unhappy that I decided that the very large truck you drive really didn't work well in my driveway (only place to park).
This apartment was wonderful. It is quiet and right on the water with an great view. it is spacious, clean, and the bed is crazy comfortable. There is a separate entrance so you really feel as though you are staying in your own apartment with all the privacy that comes with it. Harriet is very nice and seems to really care about your overall experience. It is also located near California street which has a bunch of places to eat and drink.
Harriet's place was perfect! The location was great. It was in a nice quiet neighborhood but with in short distance to good food and the water. The view was also really nice. The studio was clean and beautifully lit with natural light. We would definitely stay here again. Harriet is a very nice and interesting person; she's really easy to talk to. She was always available when we had questions or needed directions. Thumbs up!
Ok stay. Not as clean as we would have liked. Host was very nice and helpful though. Had a beautiful view.
Harriet and her place were perfect. Because of an injury during our vacation, we inquired whether the place was free of stairs. Harriet not only assured us that it was, but she also helped us out in extra little ways, which we appreciated. And then she gave us complete privacy.
We loved the sunny deck with its view of the Sound, with plenty of chairs for entertaining guests during the day. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was bright, and we had all we needed.
Harriet's place is in a great location for West Seattle, Alki and the Fauntleroy Ferry. It is a large studio with room to store suitcases out of the way and hang up clothes. The kitchen was well equipped. There were comfortable chairs for reading and the outside deck and view are wonderful. It is an uphill walk to eating establishments, grocery, etc., so more convenient to have a car available or bike.Lincoln Park is a short walk (flat) and a lovely park to play in the water, hunt for stone and watch the ferries. We are frequent Seattle visitors, but Harriet was available if needed and has many guides available for any new visitors. We would definitely recommend this place
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Harriet is ever so friendly and nice. She was unbelievably helpful and her accommodation is really cosy on a rainy day.
I would clearly chose her venue again.
What a wonderful little place. My hubby and I absolutely loooved it. Harriet even left us some flowers and champagne to celebrate our new marriage. so thoughtful!! The apartment has everything we needed, a nice warm bed, clean linen, dishes, tv and books. We definitely want to come back.
