You have use of the kitchen at any time, I will provide fresh produce from my garden when in season. I also provide 2 free bikes for your use during your stay. The bathroom is shared and I also have a downstairs toilet.

The space

My House is situated between the town and the quay area. It is a 15 minute walk to town,( you can stroll into town along the old railway line which is now a popular walking and cycling area.) Or you can cycle on the 2 bikes I provide. You can cycle on the 42klm greenway route or you can cycle to Croagh Patrick. It is a 5minute walk to the Quay area and Westport House. There are pubs and restaurants at the Quay. There is a big supermarket 3mins from my door. Westport is a unique and charming heritage town. It was voted best place to live in in Ireland by Irish Times readers in 2012. Ireland West Airport is 1hr away, Shannon Airport 2and half hrs, Dublin Airport 4hrs away. Westport has lots of outdoor activities to offer, eg. Gael Force, Sea2Summit . You can also avail of boat trips from the quay area. Other activities include hiking, fishing, horse riding, spas, surfing. There are also many stunning beeches to enjoy. No visit to Westport would be complete without a visit to Croagh Patrick (The Reek) which is a 10 mins drive away. The newly established great western greenway starts in Westport. The greenway is the longest off-road cycle and walking trail in Ireland. Built upon the old railway line between Achill Sound in the north and Westport to the southeast of clew bay, it extends for 43.5 km (27 miles) . It also won 1st prize at the European greenways development completion(URL HIDDEN)When you are tired out after all the activities you can relax either in my home, or you can visit some of the many restaurants in town or at the quay. If you are cooking dinner I will provide fresh organic vegetables from my garden when in season. After dinner you can use the front sitting room to relax by the fire and watch a film, or you can stroll into town to visit some of the many music pubs. Matt Molloy of the Chieftians has a great music pub.
If there is anything you need during your stay I will be very happy to try and provide it, as I want all my guests to have a really good time in my home.

We stayed at Ruth's for a week and couldn't say enough nice things about the experience! Ruth is warm and welcoming and a wonderful hostess. She is the type of hostess that pays attention to details and is very dedicated to her guests. Her home is very comfortable and in the perfect location for exploring Westport. Thank you for a lovely visit Ruth!

Ruth's home is so lovely and right near the Greenway for walking and bicycling to the quay or downtown. She was so generous with her space and food. Really lovely home and even had chocolates, water and tissues at the bedside.

Ruth was wonderful! She's very accommodating and a very warm host. The house is adorable and in a nice location. A bit out of city centre, but very close to a small strip of pubs right by Clew Bay. A quiet part of town and very convenient. Whenever I am back in Westport, I will be staying with Ruth without a doubt.

Perfect place to spend a night in Westport. Ruth was very kind- even gave us some vegetables from her garden to cook for dinner! Room was clean and spacious. Very quite. A quick 15 walk gets you into the town center. Would recommend!
