Doris was very accommodating to our change in plans due to weather. Her home is in a very nice neighborhood that is convenient for us to visit our daughter at the college.
Doris's house was lovely, comfortable clean and in the most quiet place we've ever been to. We had all we needed, Doris was very kind and she has all your choices of coffee you can think of, even Nespresso, which is our favorite!
Neigborhood is totaly a safe place and looks amazing with all the foliage views. We also found a great place for breakfast- Tunnel city coffee.
Doris's house and Williamstown is definitely a place to come back to.
Thank you, Doris!
We had a great stay at Doris' house last weekend - she made everything very easy logistically, the house was conveniently located close to Williams for our alumni weekend, and the house was comfortable and spacious with plenty of room in the bedrooms. Highly recommended!
Positives: Spacious, Nice Views, Very close to all we needed for the weekend, Quiet neighborhood, Nice to be able to do laundry, Owner very accommodating, Groovy record collection, Speedy internet.
Could Improve: Sound carries too well in the house (great for piano, bad for sleeping through the night), one of the bedroom doors wouldn't stay closed, no cable
Overall awesome stay. Too bad we didn't get a chance to meet the owner! Would definitely stay there in the future!
I rented Doris' house for three months. It was perfect. Everything was clean and freshly painted. I parked my bicycle in the two car garage, the laundry room looks newly renovated, and the kitchen has more appliances than anyone will ever use. Williamstown center is just west on The Mohawk Trail, Mt. Greylock is all but directly outside the living room window- a 10 mile climb from the driveway to the summit at 3,491', the highest point in Massachusetts. The locals all seem to drive Subarus with canoe racks on top. There is a terrific local grocery, Wild Oats, a mile away, which is having a staring match with a certain well known donut shop across the road. I bought my vegetables from Chenail Farm's roadside stand, on the road up to Greylock (half a mile from the house). I have stayed in the area before, to ride up Mt. Greylock and write, but this summer was by far the best I've spent. There were no surprises, no weird issues or aggravating factors. I've traveled quite a bit and have learned to appreciate not only the good aspects of a place, but the lack of annoying ones as well. The house is quiet, yet all the usual businesses one might need are close by. Most of all, however, I appreciated Doris' kindness, she has a heart of gold.
We enjoyed our time at Doris' house. We were there to attend our son's graduation from college. The house is very convenient to Williamstown and Williams College. Plenty of space and 2 full baths, made it easy and relaxing for our group. We would stay here again.
Doris' home proved to be a perfect home base for our exploration of the Berkshires. Her home was easy to find, in a sweet neighborhood just a mile from the center of Williamstown and Williams College. While we didn't meet Doris in person, her communications via e-mail were timely and clear; the key transfer went smoothly. Her home was absolutely lovely: hardwood floors throughout, a comfortable living room, dining room table for 6, fully equipped kitchen, three large bedrooms with firm yet pillowy-topped mattresses, 2 full baths. A particularly striking feature was the home was immaculate and devoid of personal clutter. To be honest, I don't know how she did it! Screens on the windows meant we could experience fresh breezes. The AC option was helpful one warm night. In summary, I highly recommend Doris' home and it's delightful proximity to the north end of the Berkshires.
Doris' home was a great fit for my family. Convenient to the center of Williams College. The kitchen was well equipped. The living area, bedrooms, and bathrooms all more than adequately met our needs. With the snowstorm that snuck up on us, the attached garage was a nice benefit..
Everything was fine. Had an enjoyable experience.
Our three-week stay on Elliot (no relation) Drive was a pleasure. Doris' house is in a quiet neighborhood close to all the good things in Williamstown/North Adams etc. It's full of light and is well-located and well laid out. there's a fair amount of stair climbing, if that's an isue for anyone but wasn't for us at our late 70's . We enjoyed ourselves and would happily stay there again.
