We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Becky's apartment in Hackney. The location was excellent, and we felt very much at home. The sun often greeted us through the skylight in the morning and warmed our backs during breakfast.
Becky and partner, who were both extremely friendly and welcoming, have created a wonderfully cozy space. We were able to make breakfast in the mornings and cook in the evenings, and loved going through all Becky's "Elle Decoration" magazines!
We would definitely go and stay there again. A great home and great hosts! Thanks to you both.
The apartment was magical, and Rebecca is a really concerned and warm host. I don't know if there is a better way to experience East London that from this beautiful loft! Thank you x
Becky's apartment is really cool and it was lovely to be able to enjoy the beautiful enclosed courtyard garden in the sunshine. The apartment was in the perfect location for us - really near Columbia Road market and London Fields. Becky was brilliant at keeping in touch and was really friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and we had good quiet night's sleep. The only things that might be a consideration for some guests are that the spiral staircase is very steep and narrow, the ceilings rather low in the upstairs bedroom and the guest bathroom is open plan! But our experience was really positive and I would definitely recommend this apartment.
Becky's place is in the heart of Hackney, a very cool place that seems to attract young people from all over the world. The flat is spacious and Becky is charming. Buses are right out the front door and they'll take you to where ever you need or want to go. We preferred the Barkley Bikes and rode them all over London. Vietnamese food is just a couple of blocks away, and Brick Lane is easy to get to from here.
I've stayed in about 5 Airbnb places and this was the best. Rebecca was an attentive host, but also laid-back and flexible. The space was gorgeous and had everything we needed. Location was funky East London and a quick bus ride downtown ... But lots to explore nearby on foot.
Where do I begin? Rebecca (Becky) is a life saver!!! I was stranded in London one evening without a place to stay and Rebecca agreed to have me as a guest without a clue of who I was or what I did. All I write would fall short. The apartment is simply amazing. It is secure, in a fantastic location and done up with enormous enthusiasm and effort. Every little detail has been given so much attention and importance that you feel that it was simply meant to be the way it is. I initially stayed for one night but then extended my stay for another 10 nights. It was home (literally) away from home. The room was spacious and gives you complete privacy. The bed is extremely comfortable with more pillows that you can ever use. It comes with its own fully functional bathroom which was fantastic. Everything you find in Becky's house is not something you could easily find on the regular high street stores and tells you how much of herself she has put into the house. From the old bus route map to the matchbox decoration on her Christmas tree - everything is bespoke and very personal making the house a home. Its easy to be critical of any place and there is always something that could have been better but Becky is one of the most accommodating people I have come across and is always happy to help and put you at ease. Would I stay here again? Without a doubt! Fantastic home and great host! Thanks Becky and Thank you Airbnb for this wonderful experience.
Me and my girlfriend visited Rebecca's loft for a long weekend in the beginning of November. Overall we had a great stay, the flat is great and feels really safe, she helped us with directions and pointed us to some nice places. The only downturns where that the maisonette compartment was really dusty and would have needed some better cleaning and that it was open to the rest of the living room (although separated through the steep stairset). Still, if you're looking for a nice flat with a great host close to Columbia Road this is definitely recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay in Rebecca's loft. The place was comfortable and the style suited us perfectly. We felt at home and lived like East Londoners for a couple of days. (Added bonus for us: It was a delight to have the morning sun streaming in from the skylight as we were getting ready in the morning.)
The location from tube was slightly far - but the bus stop was very close, so we simply used the bus more often. Shoreditch, Liverpool station and weekend markets were only a 15 minute bus ride away.
great host,awesome location, lovely apartment.
thank you becky.
Rebecca is really lovely and I enjoyed meeting her. She was very accommodating, and I ended up having the flat to myself for most of the time. I would suggest this place to someone who is fairly limber, since the upper loft/sleeping area is accessed only by the winding staircase and has a sloped ceiling. (If it weren't for the kindness of her friend who was able to take my small suitcase upstairs, I never would have been able to carry it up there.) It's a spacious room, but I had difficulty standing up fully to get dressed or use the sink and had to slip in and out of some cross beams to get to things or crawl into bed. Likewise, you have to stretch out in the tub to take a shower, which I wasn't able to use anyway because there was a temporary problem with the hot water. I was glad to have access to the shower downstairs, but again, this was complicated by having to go up and down the stairs to get ready. The loft is fairly open, so there isn't much bathroom privacy.
It's a really nice flat, recently renovated, and if it were a bit cleaner and less dusty I would have given it 4 stars.
