About this listing
This is a huge room and comfortably fits up to 5 people if you're on a budget! We bring in a futon for parties over 2. Tile floors, 2 smaller windows, the brown wall pictured has been freshly painted white. Thick curtains, great for sleeping in!
- We are located on the same block as the Jefferson stop on the L Train. This train takes us directly to Untion Square in exactly 14min. In our area there is nothing as new, clean, close to the train, and close to the most amazing shops and bars in our neighborhood.
-This downstairs room has its own "private entrance" if you choose to use it and is the largest room in the house. This could easily accommodate four or five people if you wanted to add the use of our futons and air mattress.
-Downstairs location facing the street. There is not a lot of car traffic but on weekends there are lots of people around, it's a fun, lively neighborhood. Ask for earplugs if you need them or if you're very sensitive to noise, consider booking another of our rooms on the weekend.
-Entire downstairs has tiled floors. This is the largest and most "utilitarian" room in the house with tile floors and smaller windows. It is priced the same as smaller rooms upstairs. We recommend this space for more budget conscious groups who want a large, clean, comfortable private room without luxuries of the other rooms (hardwood floors, large screen TV, exposed brick, private backyard). If you'd like these kinds of luxuries, please have a look at our "other listings".
-All of the rooms are totally private with locking doors.
-We have 1.5 bathrooms. Full bathroom upstairs, half is downstairs.
- Exposed Brick and Hardwood floors.
- Very comfortable beds. Fresh Linens and Towels.
- Coffee every morning.
Laundry in building!!!
Backyard with Apple trees, and a Fire Pit, with BBQ possibility.
Awesome Bars! It's very easy to just stay in this neighborhood.
The greatest Taqueria (maybe on Earth?). Also nothing there costs more than $6!
Totally amazing restaurants, from French, to New american, to brick oven Italian style pizza.
A local Park for indigenous people watching.
AGAIN, 45 second walk to "Jefferson" stop on the L train.
The kitchen and bathroom upstairs is a shared area.
Interaction with Guests
Erica and Jorel will be here during your stay. We will be available for you, to help you understand the city. You can text, call, or email us anytime. And depending on what you're looking to experience, Erica or Jorel will have recommendations. We are seasoned Pro's here in NYC. And we like to keep our finger on the pulse of what's going on in our city.
We highly recommend shooting us an email to tell us when you are hoping to stay with us, and we can give you an immediate idea of all the possibilities. Plus the third room could always be available if Jorel is going away so write to us anytime to say hello, and we'll answer any questions.
A flourishing artist community has existed in Bushwick for decades and has now become one of the most lively art communities in New York City. Dozens of art studios and galleries are scattered throughout the neighborhood along with countless music venues, bars and restaurants. There are several open studios programs that help the public visit artist studios and galleries and a number of websites dedicated to promoting neighborhood art and events.
Some restaurants, music venues, and bars we love:
Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos
Secret Project Robot
Low Brow Artique
The Living Gallery
House of Yes
English Kills Art Gallery
The Cobra Club
Goodbye Blue Monday
Momo Shushi Shack
El Mio Cid
Again...Yes, the L train is conveniently located ON OUR BLOCK.
The train makes commuting very easy into other neighborhoods:
- 8-10 minutes from Williamsburg
- 13 minutes to the East Village
- 15 minutes to Union Square (Holiday Market and shopping)
- 35 minutes to Rockefeller Center (ice skating, christmas tree)
- 40 minutes away from Central Park
- Subway: Take the ACE line and transfer to the L train.
- Mass transit is tricky, we suggest a fairly inexpensive yellowcab ride (about $30 with tip, depending on traffic) to our place.
Other Things to Note
We do have 2 cats that mostly stay in Erica's Room unless you invite them into yours.
The rental rooms don't have any pets in them (unless you specifically lure them in), so you most likely won't even know they are here.
There is free street parking on our block, a yoga studio, BBQ restaurant, craft beer bar, Indian , Venezuelan Arrepas, and Italian reataurants, several great bars and a 24 hour gormet food store all within a block radius.
Please be respectful of other guests by being quiet at night. If there are no other guests, you can bend that rule!
When there are other guests in the house, please limit shower time to 15 minutes. If there are no other guests, go crazy!
Erica an Jorel's was exactly what we were looking for. Despite our very short stay, it was really a great location and Erica was very welcoming! Definitely will be comin back on our next stay!
Erica was there when we arrived, we were staying for almost 2 weeks. The room was big enough for the 4 of us and was clean and fitted to the description. It was a nice room and the living room and kitchen as well. We had free access to it. Erica was very friendly and always accepted to give us advice on our visits and nice places in the neighborhood. Her cat was also so cute!
The subway was extremely close, as well as a supermarket and the environment was nice and not very far from Manhattan, a ride of the L line. We had a really great stay!!! Hoping to see you again Erica, thanks for everything!!
The location and neighborhood are great. Close to subway and have all kinds of store and restaurant nearby.
The room is subpar. Dirty. Lack of ventilation. A lot of flys. Stinky with strong smell of cat's pops. If u r allergic to cats. Absolutely should not stay here. The description of "two beds can sleep 4" is a flat lie or misleading at the least. One bed is actually a futon bed on the floor.
The host Erica is one of a kind. She is late for more than one hour to let us check in and never bother apologized. She and her boyfriend will cook with Carpet vacuum notice level food mixer at 11.30pm. And at 10am she will tell us be quite because she or her mate are sleeping.
Erica kept great communication with me. Very friendly and makes you feel welcomed to her home. There's a laundry room and she was nice enough to let us use her soap. We couldn't get the a.c. To work but found a fan and used that instead. Just a short walk to the subway and places to eat on the same street. Thanks, Erica and Jorel!
A really great neighbourhood and location, very easy to get into Manhattan and only a couple of stops from Bedford Ave.
It was great to stay with Erica, the apartment was beautiful and the room was spacious. Really loved her cats too.
Thanks for having us!
