This romantic retreat on the river will have you swooning for your love and wanting to stay longer. Nestled in a picturesque valley at higher elevations with views of the lower gorge and the Cullasaja river rapids as your playground, the open floor plan and abundant windows bring the outdoors in.

Romantic is just the beginning as you sleep with views of the moon and stars over your bed in 1 of the master bedrooms. Or choose the enormous suite downstairs for views of the river and fireflies.

The space
Recently The Barn appeared as a backdrop and featured as a destination in the new 2019 Toyota Commercial advertised nationally.

Is it a roadtrip destination perfect for family bonding? Is it a treehouse in the trees at the edge of a roaring river where the indians used to fish and camp? Is it a barn in a picturesque valley at high elevations where the farmers used to grow their tobacco and raise their horses? Is it the smell of fresh moutain air, cool and clean from the river, or fresh cut grass and moutain flowers that give that "magical" feel that so many guests continue to rave about? Is it the sight of little birds (hummingbirds to herons), butterflies in the rocks, fireflies and bats at dusk, mountain and gorge views or the tranquility of sitting by the river letting the roar drown out every thought and stress? Is it that chewy cab and feet up knowing that tomorrow you don't have to work and that tonight you can lay in that soft bed, gaze at the stars and listen to that river lullaby?
You decide.
Originally a 1940's tobacco barn, this spacious house has been skillfully and lovingly turned into a unique and wonderful home on the Cullasaja River. The water runs quickly here but includes deep, calmer fishing holes. Some of the best trout fishing in the county! And the largest trout on record for the county supposedly caught here Or, you could just enjoy a glass on wine while sitting on the river's bank in a steaming claw-foot bathrub!
This property has it all! Check out our guest access. You're never going to want to leave.

Located on the edge of the whitewater Cullasaja River, The Barn has views of mountains, river or gorge from just about every window. This magical spot truly is special and unique and will leave you wishing you were staying longer.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the rushing river while sipping wine in the outdoor claw foot tub at rivers edge. Fish for several variety of trout. Relax with a good book in a hammock on the back porch above the river. And gaze at the brilliant stars and moon thru the four windows above your plush sleep number king bed at night.
