The living room features an air conditioner, an L-shaped sofa, very comfortable for viewing the 42" Flat Panel Sony® Bravia LCD HDTV equipped with Sky® Satellite Television (English, Spanish and other international channels). You'll find the Bose® Sound dock and the DVD/Karaoke player as well.
The dining room has seating for 6, with additional seating for 2 at the kitchen counter just behind it. The fully equipped kitchen has stainless-steel appliances for your enjoyment as well as granite counter-tops. A reverse-osmosis filtration system offers you delicious drinking water in the refrigerator and through the special sink dispenser.
With three beautifully furnished bedrooms, there is enough room for up to 7 people to sleep very comfortably a-top luxurious mattresses and down comforters. Each room has it's own air conditioner. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, a 32" Flat Panel Sony® Bravia LCD HDTV equipped with Sky® Satellite Television and a modern, private marble bathroom. The "green" room has a queen-sized bed. The "gold" room has a queen-sized bed and a twin sized futon sleeper. The secondary bedrooms share a marble bathroom.
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely condo! Situated perfectly - right on the beach with a gorgeous view and cool breezes an easy walk or cab to everything you might need or want to do. Would definitely recommend staying here! The condo is comfortable, cool with AC, great beds and a great kitchen. Hot tub and rooftop is a luxury as is the roof top pool. My only suggestion would be to pick up an umbrella for use at the beach or on the rooftop as shade is limited.
This is not the busy overly touristy part of playa- though you're only a 15 minute walk to the heart of 5th avenue - the restaurants in this area are better, well priced and the beach is popular with the locals especially on weekends so you really feel a part of the community.
Jasmin was super easy to work with, always fast to reply to questions before and during our stay. From check-in to out our stay was smooth and easy. Thank you for a great vacation!
We were really happy with our stay here. The condo is beautiful, the area is quiet but really close to all the touristy stuff and the beach. Jamais and Ruben sent us emails with lots of stuff to do and see in the area, and Adriana, who let us in and checked us out, was really pleasant to work with. I definitely recommend staying here, and we will hopefully be back someday!
My wife and I were extremely indecisive about our trip to PDC... go to an all-inclusive, a hotel or a condo rental? Immediately we knew we chose correctly with an a la carte trip. We like to explore the area without being confined and get more for your money. We ate and drank at a ton of tasty & fun restaurants on 5th and could never visit at all the good places in one lifetime. We rented a car and drove to tulum. Would def recommend. Overall a great choice for fun and food and beach.
Since initial contact, all correspondence with Jamais was responsive and helpful. Lucy in particular, who checked us in was super nice and on call most hours. They let us check in a bunch of hours early. They were full of recommendations of things to do in town. They made a clear effort to make sure we enjoyed our stay and went the extra steps to be helpful. We would definitely rent with them again.
The apartment was excellent. Typically the photos make the apartments look extra large but these were accurate. For 2-4 people, its really comfortable. The roof is spacious and private. The pool was pretty cold and shady so we didn't use it. We used the jacuzzi tub a couple times. The water does get cool within about 15-20mins. Its only 3 mins from 5th and 5-7 mins from the beach. We always felt safe walking home at night. The street is well lit & the entrance safe. We never saw the alleged security guard. Overall the apartment was really nice.. much more than ours in Brooklyn that made it felt like a treat.
Now the negative. PDC is growing FAST. There is a ton of construction going on. Condos, resorts, restaurants are all getting worked on. Its a noisy place. Hammering, drilling, beeping... Its hard to avoid just because its such a beautiful & desirable place.
Our biggest complaint was with the noise. On vacation, i like to sleep till 10am before rolling out of bed. Construction starts really early so starting around 8am every day, we woke to the noisy sounds of construction and they continued steadily throughout the day till around 5pm. This made the outdoor roof and the balcony less relaxing. We made it an effort to wake up early and get out and enjoy the beaches & sights in areas away from the noise. Around 5pm, the drilling stopped and we'd return for a couple beers on the roof in loungers. We even mentioned the noise to Jamais and she was even willing to try to move us to somewhere less noisy if it were unbearable.
Ask for keys to the bedroom doors. We locked ourselves out one time. Test the safe before the manager leaves.
Overall an amazing trip. We will definitely return and recommend Jamais to friends and family.
Jarret was a fantastic guest and very nice to work with. We would love to have him back again. Playa del Carmen, as well as the rest of the US and Canada has been experiencing historically low temperatures and rain storms (at least it is not snow), so the water temperature of the pool and ocean is much cooler than usual. The locals will not get near the water right now -it's too cold for us. But luckily, it will only last a short time. There is a ton of expansion going on in Playa -including right on our shoreline and it was voted the "most rapidly growing city" for a reason. We hope when you come back this phase will be finished but considering how many people are visiting - I doubt it! We hope that Jarret enjoyed Playa as much as we do.
We hired this apartment during a very busy time for playa with bpm festival going on. We didn't have a great deal of choice with our late decision to attend so this far outweighed my expectations for what seemed like being one of the last properties to go. We were more than pleasantly surprised.
The locaction was excellent, very close to 5th ave and the beach parties at mamitas and kool but far enough from it that the parties and crowds couldn't be heard allowing for a good reprieve from the madness. Taxis were easily found on 10th and there were some great local spots nearby: laundry, cell phone shop and restaurants if 5th got too much.
The place was very clean and well maintained, however we did have a plumbing issue that rendered one of the toilets unusable but there was one in the ensuite so we didn't mind so much. The rooftop got a bit of a workout but we had average weather for the most part. The complex was very secure and quiet which was great but the rooftop access security was poor due to a lock which didn't function. It's on the third floor tho so we weren't too worried this. WiFi was terrible and this was put down to poor signal right across playa due to elevated level of activity the festival brought, Funny WiFi everywhere else in playa was excellent.
We were 3 single travellers and the spare bed promised wasn't available so had to use a couch for third bed. Linen and towels were provided however we were warned about additional cleaning fees if these were too dirty. Hot water tank was tiny and was useless for 3 ppl with barely enough for one and a half showers.
This is a 3rd party managed property so expect minimal contact with the owners during your stay but the local staff they have On hand were great to deal with, friendly and punctual. Expect very firm rules and regs due to these third party managers. Power is closely monitored, with excess consumption charged, a USD CASH deposit is required rather than the usual airbnb credit card security and check out and check ins need multiple confirmations. I will say this tho, they were very understanding of our situation w bond and made special provisions for us which helped a great deal.
This place is an ideal retreat from the madness of 5th avenue well located and appointed. Don't expect a local flavour with suggestions of good food or activities it is very much a self managed dwelling. Minor maintenance issues weren't a problem for us but could have been for some. Overall very happy with our stay but we were quite easy to please others may not be so accommodating. Wouldn't suggest anymore than 2 single travellers or possibly a couple and an additional guest would be comfortable here due to minimal power and hot water and sleeping facilities. Not ur typical airbnb local experience.
We are glad to hear that Tim enjoyed his stay and some of the very positive aspects of his visit and our condo. He was very nice to work with during the booking process. I gave him a very nice review. We were on vacation for Christmas so we did not personally greet him, but Lucy, his personal concierge did. Upon arrival, we provide our guests with a local cell phone with her number (as well as ours and emails) for convenience. We also have a welcome letter with the condo info and services including banks and our favorite restaurants, maps, and guide books to help our guests acquaint themselves with Playa del Carmen. At his arrival, Lucy pointed out that there are different sets of towels for use - one for the beach and one for the bath and to please not bring the bath towels to the beach. She also asked for the refundable security deposit - as per the lease and the Airbnb House Rules. At that time, Tim refused to pay. After a bit a struggle which included having to contact us on vacation, he gave her some of the deposit and the remainder later. We believe that he must have still been upset about this as he never mentioned any of his other concerns during his stay to Lucy or to us. Our property management has a full-time handyman on staff who could have immediately assisted. The condo sleeps 4 guests on 2 kings size beds and we have an air mattress and couch, in case someone cares to use them for additional sleeping. That is their option but we do not market it that way. It seems like some of the items in the lease are being blow out of proportion a bit but actually had no impact on his stay. As a result, we are a bit puzzled by this review. We will be sure to check with our other guests to make sure they are not experiencing these same issues. We hope that in spite of these things, Tim and his friends enjoyed their trip.
Having been cancelled on last minute by another host, we were worried we might not find anywhere else given the time of year (peak season end-Dec to mid-Jan). Jamais was brilliant in helping us to arrange something at short notice (over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in fact). The apartment itself was great, as described in the ad - three large bedrooms each with an ensuite and a great central location at a quieter end of town which helped ensure a good nights sleep!
Very nice condo across road from the beach. No food or drink service nearby. The nightclub next door, Canables had odd hours and was seldom open when we wanted to eat or drink. We stayed over New Years and there were a lot of people there so not sure why they didn't take advantage of the crowds. Only way to get food or drink was to take a cab to grocery or restaurant.
We are happy that you enjoyed the condo. The Elements is probably one of the most luxurious, oceanfront condos in Playa del Carmen. The beach club, Canibal Royal is open daily from 10am to 7pm (except for special events when they open later -usually on Sunday nights). 5th Ave is 3 blocks (where the restaurants start) and the nearest grocery store is 4. 5 blocks. In Playa, we have 4 major grocery stores - all located on 30th Ave - which is not on the beach. So all of the luxury condos are located a short cab ride or walk from the commercial areas in which the "Walmarts" are located. We hope to have you back next year!
The apartment is in a great location and well maintained (clean and the air conditioning works well) - the pictures are accurate (less than 10 minutes from the beach and 5th avenue and very close to the ADO bus station). Kitchen was stocked well for cooking and seating 6 guests. The building is secure and is staffed overnight at the door. We were provided a concierge who helped with planning day trips and excursions, as well as restaurant recommendations etc… The beds were all really comfortable. The rental office delivered bottled water to us throughout the week. I would have preferred to have windows to the outside in the kitchen and living room. There are windows that open up to wells in the building. One of the bedrooms is the same way. Two of the bedrooms open up to a nice balcony. There is a very, very loud Karoake bar across the street that goes strong every night until about 2 am. Bring ear plugs. I would stay in a property run by Jamais again. Timely and responsive to us in the booking process.

Gloria and I worked very well together and communicated very efficiently. She had many questions and I believe I answered them all to her satisfaction. I really enjoyed working with her. I was expecting to hear how beautiful the oceanfront penthouse condo was that she rented. I thought I would hear how nicely equipped and decorated it was, but that was not the case.
I feel I must defend the property management company on their behalf because this review is about them. They do not have a way to write back. The company which maintains this condo is American owned and is the first professional full-service property management in Playa del Carmen. They have a large staff which includes full-time maids and technicians. As part of their service, they check all appliances and utilities prior to guest arrival. At that time, the dishwasher and washing machine were working. The day after Christmas, a technician was called to the condo because the dishwasher and the washing machine stopped working properly. He needed specific pieces to fix both which were not even available locally. Immediately, Gloria's laundry was taken to be washed and returned. A couple of days later, she was asked if she needed additional laundry services and they received no reply.
During this time, there were terrible storms in Playa del Carmen. Unfortunately, as a result of one of these storms, one of the elevator's electrical system was effected. This is an act of God and something that the property management can only report to the building and can not fix themselves. The elevator took two days to fix.
The property management company also offered to refund some of her money via PayPal as a result of her pain and suffering. We are still waiting to hear from her what her PayPal address is in order to send the money. So the promise has not been fulfilled to date because they are waiting for the information.
We both hope in spite of all of this, she had a chance to enjoy the incredible view from the roof top pool and relax in the home.
We loved our stay at Jamais' place in Buenos Aires. It is in a great neighborhood, a short walk from shopping, cafes and restaurants. The loft itself is nicely situated in a building with a lot of character. There are two nicely sized bedrooms and a joined dining and living area with a separate kitchen. Jamais was also very easy to communicate with and was very responsive. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. We really enjoyed our stay, and would stay again!
The place is amazing -- even better than the photos! We stayed for 10 days and loved our location and accommodations. Jamais was super helpful and responsive ... we hope to go back!
Check out the great restaurant a block away on the beach. Just take a left at the beach and you'll run right into it. Best location in the entire town!
