About this listing
My house is in a residential neighborhood with walking distance to grocery stores, coffee shops and Chile Line (town bus) stop. Your spacious room is sunny and bright and has its own little bathroom which includes a shower.
Welcome to my 4 BR house with 2 baths! Your room is the Master Bedroom (queen size bed) of the house with it's own little bathroom. My bedroom is on the other side of the house, so your "quarters" are quite private. With a big window facing East, the morning light might wake you up bright and early to explore what Taos has to offer. Your little bathroom has towels, shampoo, conditioner and lotion for you.
You are welcome to use the living room, kitchen and laundry. I only get basic TV, but there is internet access so you can watch your favorite shows online on your laptop. There is also a DVD player. I have plenty of parking around the house so you don't have to park on the street.
The house is located on a family friendly and quiet street about 1.5 miles south of the Taos Plaza. Taos Ski Valley is about 40 minutes away by car. There is a big back yard facing the mountains. The Chile Line Bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from the house.
Check-in time is after 4:00 PM. Go ahead and park in the big drive way between the house and the free-standing garage. I will leave a key out for you if I'm not home.
Interaction with Guests
I live at my house but work different jobs during the day and like to stay busy with different activities. If I'm not busy working at home, I'd love to hang out but at the same time, I respect your privacy.
My house is located on a residential street in the south side of town. It's not the historical district, but the proximity to most things is great!
The Chili Line Bus stop is within walking distance.
Other Things to Note
I have another guest bedroom which is available if there is more people in your travel party. This one shares a bathroom, has a queen size bed and rents for $45/ night ($10 add-on for second person). Let me know if you're interested.
As I work, sometimes early, I'd appreciate the common areas to be quiet after 10 PM. I am a quiet person and promise not to make much noise in the morning when I have to go to work.
Andrea was a great host. Very accommodating to our check in and check out needs, let us do laundry, and gave us great advice on things to do. Room was very private.
Andrea is a great host. She met me with a huge smile postively brimming warmth. I was most touched by a chalkboard drawing with my name welcoming me. Her description of the accomodations were entirely accurate. What she left out is that she has a huge backyard with a great view of the mountains. While the backyard is far from "finished" and does abut a light industrial space, her small garden and sitting area was a lovely quiet and restful space.
My room came complete with lots of information on what Taos has to offer. It was charming. The private bathroom a welcome addition. And true to its description very close to the heart of Taos. Andfresh brewed coffee was left for me in the a.m.
This place was comfortable and great. Pulled in late from a motorcycle trip from Pike's Peak and this was exactly what I needed. Woke up the next morning in time for tea and a lovely set of directions for two wonderful rides before leaving Taos. Place to sit out and soak up the stars in back has wonderful ambience. Thanks, Andrea! You're great!
Andrea's room/private bath was very comfortable and clean. Her home is in a convenient location. She was very warm and friendly and we really enjoyed visiting with her.
I arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning, so I unable to meet Andrea face to face. However, the room was exactly as described, comfortable bed and nice linens. She had left a light on in my room, so there was no confusion where I needed to be. I would definitely stay there again.
First Airbnb experience and I was completely satisfied. Andrea's place was nicer than the hotel I stayed in the night before and half as expensive. I will continue to use Airbnb due to the hospitality, kindness, and local advice that she provided during my stay. Great experience.
About the Host, Andrea
Originally from Sweden, I have now lived in Taos since 1999. Skiing is my passion and life. But the mountains and Taos have so much more to offer and I love taking advantage of that and staying busy. I am a Realtor, ski coach and raft guide. I am looking forward to meeting you and directing you to the fun things to do and experience here in Taos, NM!
