The Teachers Residence was built in 1850 and was originally the village school teacher’s house. It is a cosy welcoming house with wood burning stove and lots of character, nestled in the beautiful rolling south Wicklow Hills.
We live in the very picturesque village of Coolboy in south Wicklow. Our guest room is a beautiful country style bedroom with double bed and en-suite. It is perfect for some quiet time away from it all, a romantic retreat, or as a base if you wish to explore this beautiful part of Wicklow.
Guests have access to our kitchen, washing machine and living room with wood burning stove, TV and garden.
This is a friendly and relaxed household, we would like you to feel at home and come and go as you please. Breakfast is included and you are welcome to help yourself to tea, coffee and whatever is in the cake tin throughout the day.
There’s a lot to see and explore in the area. If you like walking we are minutes away from the beautiful Tomnafinnogue Woods and we are located close to the Aughavannagh - Tinahely section of the Wicklow Way. Alternatively you might like to stay indoors and relax with tea and homemade cake in the cosy surroundings of the Tinahely Farm shop or the Chocolate Garden coffee shop.

Last year we spent 7 months travelling around the world, and we were so impressed by our Airbnb experience that on returning to Ireland we have decided to make our home and our hospitality available to others. We love meeting people and enjoy sharing experiences and stories over a cup of tea at our kitchen table.
We both work from home, so we are available to answer any questions you might have about the local area.
This is an authentic and idyllic Wicklow village. The people are friendly and welcoming and always happy to help.
There is very little public transport in this part of Wicklow. If you are hiking the Wicklow Way we are happy to offer you a FREE pick up and drop off from Tinahely, or Shillelagh.
We can also arrange a pick up from the bus or train station in Gorey which is a 20 minute drive from our home.
Catherine and Vincent were very warm-hearting and great hosts. They made us feel welcome immediately. Their lovely house is cozy and very comfortable and we felt at ease forthwith. It was a real pleasure to experience Catherine's and Vincent's hospitality and, of course, Catherine's marvellous homemade scones which they gave us as for our further journey :-) It was a pity that we didn't have more time for chatting and for the next time, we'd stay longer for sure. Thank you so much!
