Carrboro is beautiful and relaxed. The house is tucked away in a bed of trees on a hill. In the mornings you can hear the birds chirping as people walk to work and sit outside the local co-op discussing philosophy and which brewery has the best beer. The energy is so peaceful and calming in North Carolina. I have lived all around the world and Carrboro is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to relax. There are tons of local businesses and people are incredibly welcoming and health conscious.
You can literally walk to everything from the location of the house. There is also public transportation and UNC campus buses as well.
Other Things to Note
This house is grounded in positive energy. We welcome all types of people with all different backgrounds and beliefs.
Very nice house, good neighborhood and centrally located. I spent 2 months there and don't have complaints. Casey and Marshe are great hosts. Totally recommended if you are going to be in Carrboro/Chapel hill area.
The house was better than the description. The neighborhood was centrally located and convenient to everything I needed. The hosts were welcoming and informative without being overbearing - perfect for us!
We had a wonderful weekend in Marshe's lovely home in Carrboro! The room was clean and had everything we needed. We met Marshe once during our stay and she is a wonderful hostess with the mostest The house is a stone's throw from many great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and Weaver Street Market. Campus is an easy 20 minute walk or you can catch one of the many free buses with stops nearby. Looking forward to coming back soon!
We absolutely loved our stay here! Marshe was a model hostess, and ensured that we had everything and more for a pleasant stay.
The actual room itself is quite spacious and has a really serene ambiance to it. The bathroom is also very spacious and pristine.
If we ever come back to the Carrboro area, this will definitely be our first choice for lodging!
I just love Marshe's cottage on Carr. The house is adorable, and everything in it is chic, interesting, and chosen with great care and an artist's eye. I stayed in the SkyLight room, which has the most comfortable bed in the world, an ensuite, and delightful furnishings. I was able to poke my head in to some of the other rooms, and they all looked delightful. I didn't meet Marshe, but a friend of hers was around during my stay and answered questions and added a homely presence. It felt like a friendly house share. The location is great for someone like me who doesn't have a car and who, between catching up with local friends, wanted to be able to walk to cafes and not feel I was adrift in suburbia. Excellent coffee at Open Eye Cafe just across the car park, and I was able to take it next door to Neal's Deli where I ate southern biscuits for the first time. A friendly local shared my table there and asked where I was staying. She was looking for somewhere for family members to stay next year for a wedding, and I immediately recommended Marshe's place to her. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Carrboro who is looking for a "home" for a few days, not just a room. Many thanks for the comfort and kindnesses during my stay.
Perfect location to explore Carrboro and Chapel Hill. The free buses and walkable layout made this airbnb the only place I would recommend to stay in the area! The room and house were glorious - I loved just exploring the knick-knacks and appreciated the eclectic style. Casey was great and the sunroom perfect for my needs - bed amazing!
Just two minor suggestions : provide an alternate number along with Marshe's just in case (;-) and a little more attention to the shower/bathroom floor clealiness. I found some hairs in both places upon arrival. Overall I would still rate as 5 stars!!
I had a wonderful stay at Marshe and Casey's beautiful house. The room was very tastefully decorated, with a spacious closet, an attached bathroom and an incredibly comfortable bed. The location could not be better. Highly recommended!!
