A cozy 10m2 room. The front door opens directly to an entry hall (so you don't have to cross our path to go in/out), the back door opens directly to a balcony and garden, of which you are free to make use as well (and where smoking is allowed). The room contains a double bed (140 x 200 cm), a closet for you to put your clothes, a small bedside table, lamp and mirror. The room will be cleaned before you arrive and fresh bedding and towels will be provided.
Our two-bedroom apartment is on the ground floor of a quite street, with a private garden at the back. It contains two bedrooms (one of which is for us) and one bathroom. The back bedroom is accessible directly from the entry hall, the second bedroom is on the street side of the house across the living room, where my girlfriend and I sleep. The shower/bathroom is accessible through the living room. The kitchen is open to the living room and fully equipped including oven and microwave, of which you can make free use. At the back lies our garden, where we love to have breakfast in the summer and where you are welcome to relax in the hammock or enjoy the sun.
The apartment is very conveniently accessible, with 5 tram lines and 3 bus lines within 1-4 minute walk that can take you anywhere in the city. A tram or bus ride to the center (Dam Square, Leidseplein etc.) takes 10-20 minutes. Anna Frank's house is a few tram stops away. The lovely Rembrant Park is less than a minute walk away and the smaller Erasmus Park is almost as close.
As our guests you will share the kitchen*, living room and shower with us. You may also make use of the extra pairs of bikes we keep for guests. Additionally, we've prepared some materials, guides and tips to help you make the most of your visit to Amsterdam.

Interaction with Guests
Due to our busy schedule we are mostly home during the weekends, mornings and evening.
The house is located in a residential neighborhood, on a quiet street. Around the corner you can find a supermarket, grocers, bakery and convenience stores. There is also a market close by.
Several nice cafe's and restaurants are within a short walking distance from the house, and as the neighborhood is going through a phase of revival it seems a new place is opened every week.
From Schiphol Airport you can arrive via Sloterdijk station within 30-45 minutes, and central station is just one tram ride away (ca. 20 minutes). If you are arriving by Eurolines to Amstel station you are also just one tram away. If you come with a car we can show you where to park it for free within a short tram ride (7-10 min).
We highly recommend exploring the city by bike , and for that purpose we have guest bikes* for you for free!!
Our home is ideally located for public transport. Several tram and bus lines pass within a minute's walk from the house that can take you directly to almost anywhere in the city. Many other lines stop within a 5 minute walk, and several Metro and Train stations are a just a few minutes away by tram or bus.
Typical travel times: 15-25 minutes to anywhere in the center by tram, 7-15 by bike.
25 minutes to central station by tram.

Had a wonderful stay. Everything is just as described plus lots of very helpful maps, recommendations of every sort, and directions to get to them. Much better than anything I could have gotten from a hotel brochure. Right next to a major tram stop. Definitely the best place to stay in Amsterdam!
Both my hosts were very welcoming and friendly! The room was exactly as described - very clean and cosy. With travelling on my own I thought beforehand that, as I am used to going to bed when I'm tired (usually early), it would be awkward to shut my room door and do what I felt like, as I am a bit of a loner, but there was no problem and I really appreciated that Yahav and Deirdre gave me my own space. They are lovely and they have put together a really good information pack and left guide books in the room, which was really useful. The location was perfect for me and I used the trams to get to the more central locations with no problems, with advice from my hosts about buying a card to use on public transport. I would really recommend staying with them to anyone :)
Home away from home - thats how I would describe this place. The place is exactly like what u see in pics. Close proximity to trams and buses, hence making it an ideal place to stay. Yahav was extremely considerate and made sure that my check in was as smooth as possible. Free cycles for use which means you would save upto €10 / day on rentals :). Highly recommended!!! Only regret is that I couldnt spend more time with the hosts.
Thanks Yahav for warm and cozy stay at his place. The place where perfect and additional free bikes was a great deal for hole weekend. I'm looking forward and can't wait for my next trip to Adam city.
Warm welcoming hosts with authentic Amsterdam bicycles. Good location. Overall very warm recommendations for future guests.
The host made me feel very welcome. I only noticed once I was shown the place in person that I had not seen an image of the bathroom before. Depending on how you feel about bathrooms, you may want to request an image. There was quite a bit of noise in my room from the radiator and a box shaped cupboard so I didn't get much sleep. I don't think I would come again but that could just be me being fussy. I'm grateful Yahav was a lovely host.

Hi, I'm Yahav. Together with my girlfriend Deirdre I live in a modest apartment with a spare bedroom. We have now been hosting for over a year, and enjoyed it greatly.
Although I've been living a long time in Amsterdam, I seem to like it more with every passing year. Being a foreigner myself, I know what an outsider would love to see and experience. I love to introduce others to my favorite hangouts. Deirdre is a real dutch girl, and can give you the local perspective as well as help you plan trips to many interesting places off the beaten path.
From the best restaurants and museums to the most dingy bars and everything in between, we would love to help you experience Amsterdam the way we love to live it!
