About this listing
Highlights of home:
+ A lovely quiet neighborhood
+ Great school district
+ Wonderful amenities in walking distance
+ Excellent access to Silicon Valley and Stanford University
You can almost hear strains of Bossa Nova as you saunter into the greenery filled atrium entry. A large open living area will welcome you and draw you toward the floor to ceiling windows and stunning view of the beautifully landscaped backyard.
The living room features a gas fireplace for cozy conversation. Leather seating and Guatemalan textiles and art.
A gourmet kitchen featuring soapstone counters, maple cabinets, and top of the line appliances (two dishwashers! yes!) means you are ready for entertaining. The solid cherry dining table seats 8 comfortably.
You will love the balance of textures that flow throughout the house: mahogany walls, pure wool carpets, original paintings, slate floors.
The master bedroom features a queen sized Tempur-Pedic mattress on a modern frame, in-suite bathroom, and quick access to the secluded backyard spa. A wall of windows welcomes the dawn when the vertical blinds are drawn.
The San Francisco room (bedroom 2) features a queen sized bed and large picture window looking into a private bamboo garden.
The Manhattan room (bedroom 3) looks into the lush atrium and has a single bed and desk. This room has an extra single mattress that can be slipped to the floor in one of the bedrooms for a quick extra guest.
The coastal room (bedroom 4) boasts a 38" TV, Wii game console, DVD player and a full size Murphy bed. Books and board games available, too.
Bathroom 2, with bathtub and the Washer and dryer are centrally located near the bedrooms.
The garden is lush and dramatic. There is always something in bloom. You will love the visits of the many hummingbirds that live nearby. A full sized BBQ, plenty of seating, and five person hot tub complete the picture.
This awesome home is fully connected with wireless high-speed DSL, and includes garden service (as needed). Housekeeping is included every other week for stays 2 weeks to 12 weeks. Linens and towels are all top quality.
The neighborhood is quiet. The street is tree lined and ends in a cul-de-sac. Two car parking in driveway and plenty of on street means your guests will have no problem when they visit.
Amenities include: Philz coffee, dry cleaner, wine store and pizza parlor -- just 5 minutes walk. Grocery stores, pharmacies, Peet's, Starbucks, banking, multiple restaurants -- just a 15 minute walk! Easy access to Highway 101 (but low freeway noise). It's also only a 10 minute drive (less than 2.5 miles) to Stanford, Downtown Palo Alto, Downtown Mountain View, or a nearby CalTrain station.
I hope we will see you soon!
Guests will have full access to the home and the yard. Only the garage will be out of bounds (most Californians park in the driveway, anyway).

We are delighted to share our knowledge of the area and we are as helpful as possible. Search for my blog, "Palo Alto Ponderings," for tips and maps of the area.
My neighbors are kind and thoughtful. The street is quiet. We are a short walk to several awesome coffee shops and restaurants.
We recommend bringing or renting a car or bike to get around Palo Alto. The train station is a 2 mile walk away. Car services like Uber or Lyft work very well, too.
