Located in central Prenzlauerberg near Kollwitzplatz, Helmholtzplatz, and Kastanienallee. It's one of the liveliest areas of the city. Tons of shops, cafes, restaurants. 3 Blocks from one of the best language schools in Berlin, GLS (German Language School).

Please see our Guidebook here for a selection of places to eat. I've actually stopped updating the Guidebook because there are so many good, new restaurants and cafe/bars of every ethnicity and price. I can't keep up.

Nearby Mauerpark hosts the largest weekly flea market in Berlin.

2 minutes from Berlin's subway, the U-Bahn (Station: U2-Eberswalderstrasse). Also street trams to Friedrichshain and Mitte. Mitte is where the university, concert hall and museums are located.

House Rules

WELCOME!
We're glad you are here and staying as a guest in our studio apartment. We hope you have a great time in Berlin. We have posted ((website hidden)) and printed separately a few hints and tips about the local area – all about shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. But we thought it might also be useful to provide a few tips about the apartment as well.

KEYS
Please plan to arrive between 9am and 8pm.

You will receive one set of keys (key#1 opens the front gate and the door downstairs; key#2 is for the apartment). We have another set of keys, should you lose yours. Replacement of keys costs $30 apiece.

There is a Post Office located in the Schönhauser Arcaden at the Schonhauser Allee S-Bahn station.

GARBAGE
Garbage needs to be taken out to the bins in the courtyard. Germans have a particular way of sorting their rubbish, separating out white glass, colored glass, paper products, packaging (like plastic stuff) and food waste. Each goes into a separate rubbish container. It seems a little obsessive, but you get used to it.

DEPARTURE
We would very much appreciate your leaving the apartment as you found it. That makes it much easier for us to provide a hospitable welcome for our next guest.
Please remember to the following
• Unplug the refrigerator and prop the door open.
• Unplug the coffee machine and all other kitchen appliances.
• Leave the 4 heaters in the “snowflake" setting to prevent freezing. Remove your personal belongings from the wardrobes, the balcony, and the bathroom.
• Don't forget to leave the maps and guidebooks for the next guest!

And be sure to let us know when you plan to return! You will...Berlin is a terrific place.
