Our house, Peacock Roost, is nestled in the centre of the thriving village of Tideswell. There are numerous cafes and pubs; the "Cathedral of the Peaks" is less than 300 yards from the house. We have many beautiful walks and cycle rides nearby without even getting in a car: Monsal Head, Tideswell Dale, the Wye Valley, Tansley Dale, Cressbrook Dale and St Peter's Stone. A twenty minute drive takes you to Buxton,Bakewell,Castleton and Lady Bower reservoir. Chatsworth ,Haddon and Hassop Halls.

Comfortable, welcoming home in the centre of Tideswell, a beautiful village in the Peak District. Lovely breakfast and conversation. Appreciated the great hiking tips too. Thanks again, Ged and Rob. (and Bobby)

Our stay at Ged’s was short but so sweet. Ged was extremely flexible with our check-in time and even booked us dinner reservations at a local pub when we got in late. The home and the village are like a scene out of a movie, I couldn’t believe they were real. Quaint, quiet,…

Ged and her husband were courteous, thoughtful, and kind. The room was comfortable, warm, and just as described. And breakfast was generous and delicious. It's a pleasure to recommend this place to stay in the Peak District.

Faultless! Great location - close to attractions such as Mam Tor, Kinder Scout and Poole’s tavern. Breakfast was delicious and large variety of choice. Host couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating. Amazing value for money! Beautiful cottage and room was perfect.

Perfect for our one night stay. We were only in the area for a wedding so didn’t get to make the most of the accommodation or the area. However, what we did get to experience was fabulous. Amazing hospitality, lovely breakfast and a comfortable nights sleep.
