Drovers Pook Lane is a newly renovated picturesque guest house, self-contained and nestled within it's own mature cottage garden, in the heart of idyllic village East Lavant.
Walking distance from all Goodwood attractions, 3 miles from Chichester's city centre and within the South Downs National Park. Located in a perfect spot to explore, there are many amazing walks, cycle routes and award winning pubs right on the door step.

The space
Set in the grounds of a 16th century thatched cottage, Drovers guest house is detached and set away from the main property in it's own mature cottage garden. The private entrance gate offers access from the lane outside where parking can easily be found.

Inside there is a modern shaker style kitchen/breakfast room with all you need to ensure a comfortable stay while self-catering, including a Nespresso coffee machine and Neff appliances.

There is a separate living area with comfy seating, perfect to snuggle up with a book or while enjoying the smart TV. Doors open up to the garden, idyllic for warm summer days.

At the top of the open stairway there is a king size bedroom within the pitched roof. Light floods this room with views across the tree tops and village below.
Crisp "White Company" bed linen, fluffy towels and bath robes await your arrival.

The property offers a beautifully designed downstairs shower room, including Faith in Nature toiletries.

Although bijou, the property offers plenty of storage for those staying a little longer.

Adjoining the property you have a wash house where you will find a washer/dryer and room for walking boots and waterproofs. Another outbuilding houses an inside lockable space for two bicycles, ideal for days exploring the downs.

The private garden is mainly laid to lawn edged with rose boarders and shady trees. A little summer house sits at the top of the garden looking back at the property, ideal for the evening sun. Alfresco furniture is provided to set out for morning coffee and a fire pit bbq can be enjoyed to warm those toes by or cook supper on.
(A starter pack of charcoal, logs and BBQ utensils are ready for use.)

Provided for your stay... Exceptional bed linen and towels, Faith in Nature toiletries, Twinings teas, Nespresso coffee pods, sugar, olive oil, salt & pepper, washing up liquid, hand wash/sanitiser, washing capsules, cleaning products, toilet/ kitchen roll & tea towels

A welcome hamper of local produce awaits your arrival with Goodwood milk, fresh sourdough bread and ground coffee from our lovely friends at the Square House Coffee Co.

Please note that although we can accommodate little ones, the property is designed for two guests. We do not have gates on the stairs which are open and the garden although laid to lawn does have a few steps and is not suitable for young toddlers. We recommend babes in arms. We can provide a next to me cot, highchair, changing mat and baby bath on request.

Where to dine - here are a couple of our favs...
The Royal Oak pub is across the road and serves great food and local ales, a short stroll across the road and you can even enjoy a cooked breakfast or coffee out on their terrace. (Wed-Sun Lunch only)
A walk across the village green takes you to The Earl of March with incredible views of the South Downs.

Goodwood is on the doorstep! you can walk to the motor circuit/aerodrome and Kennels but the racecourse is a safer 2 minute drive or taxi up the hill.

There are many walks and cycle routes you can take directly from the property across the beautiful South Downs and why not finish off in one of the fabulous pubs serving great food and local ales all within walking distance.

For a trip out a little further, Tinwood Estate is in Halnaker where you can book a wine tasting and tour.
You could walk through the ancient yew trees of Kingly Vale or visit one of the local beaches all within a 10-20 minute drive.
