Dear Cecilia, my daughter and I loved staying in your charming, homey and authentic little casita. Walking around the trails was so quiet in the afternoon. Thank you for being so accessible for our stay here, and so warm and welcoming. We loved hearing the coyotes throughout …

First of all it’s NOT a two bedroom even though the listing says it is. It’s basically a bed wedged in a foyer between two walls whereby two front entry ways to the home open to the bed. She also hassled us to no end about our pets and pet rules. Then forgot to list pet fee and h…

Response from Cecilia:
Fabiola booked the Casita for 2 nights and sent the money to AirBnB. Then when AirBnB sent us our contact numbers, she reached me saying she had a pet. I told her pets pay $75.00 and that this is something she should have done when booking! Then she tried EVERYTHING in the book NOT to pay for this fee. She alleged the dog was a "companion dog", if I knew city regulations about companion dogs, etc. etc. BTW, the fee of $75.00 for a dog is CLEARLY stated in the AirBnB site, which she neglected to see! Then she turned around and said her girlfriend had a dog as well. Now we have 2 dogs which she never told AirBnB about! I told her as a courtesy I will ONLY charge for 1 dog. Then I went through the rules about pets. Oh, boy, was she upset about it! I have to say that after a guest brought a dog who destroyed everything when left alone in the Casita, I insist on rules! I tell all my guests they need to bring a dog bed, dog'spots and pans, food, leash, and if they need to leave them alone in the house, a cage. Fabiola couldn't understand my aprehension. As I mentioned, the dog fee is clearly stated on the AirBnB site which she claimed didn't see, as it is a picture of the second bedroom, which she also neglected to see. There is heating in the whole house so leaving the door open would have been enough to heat the guest bedroom but this is not what these ladies decided to do but rather shared the bed in the main bedroom. Through the almost 20 years I have been in this business, I have had couples as well as single people sleeping in the second bedroom and absolutely nobody has ever complained about it. I have always received excellent reviews about the lodging, my attention to it and the beautiful surroundings. Thank you

Our stay was great. Nice little remote house near Joshua tree. The pictures do it justice. It is very well kept, clean, and welcoming to our stay. Only feedback to other visitors is that phone reception is poor (very remote location) and we could not get internet access from w…

Response from Cecilia:
With the very serious drought we have in California, tub baths are an absolute no no, so that's why we DO NOt encourage filling up tubs with hot water. Sorry. Cecilia

It was my first time to the California desert and it couldn’t have been more perfect. La casita at Rancho Mojave was so lovely. Communication with Ronald, Cecilia and Karen the caretaker was excellent. And the location close to Pappy & Harriets was convenient. Thanks so much …
