Peaceful beautiful rooms in nice home surrounded by cloud forest, 50 minutes from the Juan Santamaría International airport.
Welcome to my peaceful, beautiful place in the east mountains of the Central Valley.
My place is only 25 minutes from downtown San Jose and 50 minutes from the Juan Santamaria international airport. It is a close bus ride to San Pedro de Montes de Oca town but you will feel in the countryside and be able to enjoy the Cloud forest and a small coffee plantation a few steps away in the backyard!
If you like walking the "road less travelled"... you can actually just walk from the house and hike around in the cloud forest reserve in the backyard but there arent any easy marked trails. I would recommend these no-trails for summer visitors as it gets too rough in the rainy season which runs from May to November. Then when you get bored of looking at birds and trees and need the company of other people, you can just take a bus or taxi to San Pedro. For night city life, San Pedro is 5 miles away. Please know that here and anywhere in Costa Rica we recommend taking taxis at night. In San Pedro you can find a Jazz cafe with live music every night, bars, restaurants, yoga, dance and language schools, stores and pretty much anything you would want for a longer stay!
This is your place if you would like to wake up to the birds singing rather than city noises... Very spacious room upstairs with double bed and cable TV. Smaller room, single bed downstairs. Wireless internet access, Delicious breakfast included. My duplex is kept very clean and nice and the kitchen is basic but has everything you may need for a longer stay and to enjoy the Costa Rican hospitality!
As you can see in the pictures, the bedrooms have real confortable mattresses with nice sheets and blankets! Even though this is a tropical country, you might want to pack a sweater because it gets cool at night due to its location 1500 meters over sea level. So start packing for your trip Costa Rica! So many places, so many options... but you are lucky because at least you have already found a great starting point!
Feel free to contact me through airbnb if you have any additional questions or, once you have booked, you can email me directly. This is a very relaxing place with some kids next door but other than that you would be on your own most of the time.
non-smoking environment. Peak electricity hours: 10:00 am - 12:30pm and 5:30 pm-8:00pm. If it is a longer stay, you may use the oven or dryer anytime after 8pm.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Zaida's place was so wonderful. She is such a friendly and caring host. She taught us a lot about her country and language, cooked lovely meals for us. Her house is beautiful and grounds around are peaceful and truly Costa Rican. I would stay there again without hesitation. Bess and John
Zaida is a true host. Every time I asked her for help, she immediately got right to it. At times I felt annoying but nevertheless, she made me feel comfortable about it. On top of that, she provides great Tico breakfast and her mom is very lovable! She always speak Spanish to me but I never understand her. However, she always seem to make me smile!
The place was clean and very cozy. The backyard was filled with nature and had a great scenic view of a town nearby. It may be far from San Jose, but bus transportation was very cheap and easy. Only downside is that it can get really chilly at night so bring a sweater or hoodie.
All in all, Zaida surpassed my expectations and if I come back to Costa Rica again, I would definitely book with her again!
I stayed with Zaida for 10 nights and felt very welcome for my entire visit. Breakfast was great every day and I had full access to the kitchen so could prepare my own meals too. The house is a little out of San Jose but perfectly located for me to be able to mountain bike on the surrounding volcanoes. It was easy to get into SJ by public bus. Zaida also provided a mattress for my last night so my dad could stay after arriving in Costa Rica. Would definitely stay again, and may well be back sooner rather than later.
Zaida is a great host and a very kind and friendly person. Her house is classy and very beautifully decorated. Loved our discussions with her. The first night when we checked in, as a gesture of courtesy, she cooked quick dinner for us when she found out that we were hungry and it was too late to eat outside.
Really thankful to her for everything she did for us.
A nice quiet place just out of the city of San Jose. Ideal for a moment of peace. Lying in the hammock with the sound of birds in the background. Such joy!
The room is bigger than I expected (actually, so is the whole house) with a nice two-person bed. I felt very much at home.
Our hostess in Costa Rica, Zaida has a very luxurious and yet homey environment.
The location is quite unique. Being in the mountains and in a cloud forrest, her home has vistas of San José during the day that are spectacular, and at night are beyond that , viewing the lights of the cities below through windows designed just for that purpose!
My mom and I stayed of 2 weeks and were given use of the kitchen, laundry, and the house in a way that made us feel as though we had a "home away from home".
There are hills and roads to walk on close by that give a great hiking experience.
The bus stop is a close walk , up a steep, gorgeous mountain road.
With her skill in languages, she was able to rescue us when we needed translations when speaking to taxi drivers and other locals. She always gave us very good directions when visiting local attractions.
Breakfast is included. Zaida accomodated our health and diet needs. All she asked of us is that we write out the specifics. She made a wonderful breakfast!
Zaida represents the best of the warmth of Costa Rican hospitality!
I enjoy traveling but I also like the nice relaxing feeling of staying home and gardening on weekends! Im Costa Rican and enjoy traveling in this beautiful little country! Some of my favorite places are La Fortuna de San Carlos, Cocles beach in the Caribbean, and Santa Teresa beach on the Pacific. I feel very lucky to be able to live next to a cloud forest in the Central Valley while being so close to the city as well. Its a joy to share my home with people who also appreciate nature and the peace that it brings.
