Interaction with Guests
I am retired so I am available to answer any questions you may have and am free to give you tours. Just pay the low cost taxi fares and buy me lunch and I will show you why I love this city so much.
My neighborhood is the safest with 24/7 guards. It has the best restaurants at the lowest prices. It is full of parks with views of hills dotted with Inca Ruins. It is just off of Ave. de la Cultura that gives you quick access by bus or taxi to the Plaza de Armas. Note: The closer you are to the Plaza de Armas the more expensive EVERYTHING is. Also you are constantly being sold something. In my neighborhood you are left alone and can relax.
Just two blocks off of Av. de la Cultura with bus stops and taxis everywhere. A taxi to plaza de armas costs $1.50 and takes 8 to 10 minutes. A bus costs 25 cents or 70 solis and takes 10 to fifteen minutes. You can walk to Inca Ruins in 30 minutes with no tourists or admission costs.
Other Things to Note
After living here for years there is no other place that I would rather be.
You will have your keys and can come and go as you please. If you cook just do your own dishes. No pets please. No smoking inside but you can smoke on the front porch.
It was a very good neighrboor to stay. He got me so confortable.
It was perfect!
Richard was really helpful, he came into town with us and showed us where to get essentials, coco leaves, warm clothes etc ahead of our inca trail trek away from the tourist traps.
He was very knowledgeable of the area and offered free tours of the city and local ruins - unfortunately I was ill so we had to pass...
It really was home from home, on one of the nights we all sat down to watch a movie. Richard was a great host, a must stay if you are passing through Cusco
Room at Richards apartment was bright and spacious with big comfy bed. Good hot shower and fast wifi. Kitchen had everything you needed although we didn't cook much. Location was great, only 5 soles taxi to the centre. Richard was really helpful in helping us arrange our trip to Machu Picchu and gave us a great guided tour of the city, we even went to see some Peruvian live music with him. Would recommend!
Very nice apartment in a good and very quiet neighbourhood, only 10 minutes (5 soles = $1,50) away from the city centre. Richard is a very helpful and welcoming host. His tips where absolutely helpful and thanks to him we saw some places which are not in the guidebook but a must see in Cusco. Highly recommendable.
Great host, comfortable room and bed, good bathroom, fast internet!
Richard showed us the most important things to see in the city and took us for an amazing and relaxing hike to lonely inka-sites near Cusco!
Great. Loved the restaurantes close to the house. Couldn't have been a better stay in Cusco. Lovely room.
About the Host, Richard
Retired in Cusco for three plus years after living in Costa Rica and Ecuador. I offer one half and full day hikes to neighborhood Inca Ruins and city tours that are included with stay. Knowledgeable of Inca history and night life options of eateries and music clubs. I once played in a local Rock and Blues band. My neighborhood has the best food at the lowest prices in Cusco. Stay with us and experience the best of Cusco at the lowest prices. A new mall is now open just a few blocks away that features an 8 plex movie theater just in case you get tired of hiking. Richard
