Walls decorated with original photos of local sites. Distant views of Inca Ruins. My guests report that the room is the quietest , most peaceful place to sleep ever. Sweet dreams.

Guest access

Use of bright and sunny Living room. Large bath room with hot shower and bath tub. Sunny kitchen with views. Laundry room. Free high speed internet WIFI. Guide and history books on Peru. Large collection of DVDs. All NFL games live.

Interaction with guests

I am retired so I am available to answer any questions you may have and am free to give you tours. Just pay the low cost taxi fares and buy me lunch and I will show you why I love this city so much.

Other things to note

After living here for six years there is no other place that I would rather be. Cusco is the best place to retire to in South America based on the cost of living and the availability of cultural activities. You never get bored in beautiful Cusco, after all it is the Navel of the Universe according to the Inkas and I agree.

Richard is a most knowledgeable and obliging kind of guy. The room is spacious and clean. A short distance from the Centro, but taxis are abundant in the area. Great for solo or couples.

An awesome place to stay! Richard was a very welcoming host, offering coca tea, a guided hike in areas off the beaten tourist path, restaurant suggestions and overall great hospitality. Quick taxi ride into main part of town.

Off the beaten track in a nice, quiet, and friendly residential area that offers a glimpse of how Cuzco is growing, expanding and improving. Truly, as some one else said, the best sleep ever- very quiet, and a very comfy bed! Communication was good, the apartment is not so easy to find using devices- but should not be a problem if you follow Richard's instructions. Transportation to downtown was quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive. I appreciated Richard's recommendations and advice on some of the tours I booked. During my stay the supply of water was cut off to the area which a) is a temporary issue, which occurs at night, and will resolve after the infrastructure improvements are finished, b) are not an insurmountable obstacle

Richard was an awesome host. He showed me around some cool ruins that they are clearly turning into a tourist thing but haven't started promoting yet so there was one else around. There are some ruins that you can see from his apartment that made for a nice afternoon hike too. He told me about lots of other cool stuff that I wish I'd had time to see/hike. He also knows interesting Incan stuff so it made it going through the plaza area much more rewarding when we were there one night (after he showed me a cool restaurant overlooking city) and having him explain the various things compared to when I'd zipped through there earlier with a guide book. Obviously that knowledge made going around the ruins more interesting too. There are some supermarkets and cheap restaurants near his place which is good if you're like me and trying to be fairly frugal. The apartment is nice too and had everything you think of, it was real useful to get to do a load of laundry done there and his wi-fi was fast enough for him to stream a sports match in good quality. So yeah, it was great, highly recommended.

It is a little far from plaza de armas but it's only a 6sol taxi ride to the Plaza and its really easy to get a taxi. Room was clean and the shower was warm.

The location was convenient and quiet at night. There were a lot of awesome places to eat close by. Richard was a great host. He ensured I knew where I was going all the time. He is very knowledgeable and was kind to show me awesome gems in the city. I would recommend this location to anyone staying in cusco. If you are coming on during the winter and you get cold easily, make sure to bring layers.

The room is nice and clean, it's a bit far off but you can take a taxi to the city for 6-8 sol (aprox 1,50usd). Richard also did a hike with us for free. We visited some ruins which are just getting digged out. How often will you get such a chance? :) Thanks Richard!

Retired in Cusco for four plus years after living in Costa Rica and Ecuador. I offer one half and full day hikes to neighborhood Inca Ruins and city tours that are included with stay. Knowledgeable of Inca history and night life options of eateries and music clubs. I once played in a local Rock and Blues band. My neighborhood has the best food at the lowest prices in Cusco. Stay with us and experience the best of Cusco at the lowest prices. A new mall is now open just a few blocks away that features an 8 plex movie theater just in case you get tired of hiking. Richard
