Shellie's welcome was very friendly and made you fell at home in an instant. What you see what you get. This is not the Ritz but the authenticity of the Bajan life . The location is perfect a 5 minutes walk to the beach in a safe area. Shellie's cooking was amazing and her hosting genuine full of attention to insure an unforgettable vacation.

Lovely room - had my own private porch which was a nice escape to relax in.
Shelley and Manny were huge helps with anything I needed to know about Barbados. I came for a visa trip to the US embassy and got a lot more out of it than just my visa.
Perfect location to getting to town, US Embassy, the beach, restaurants and transportation to get you anywhere on the island.
We had a fabulous stay with these wonderful hosts in beautiful Barbados! The room was spacious and clean and we felt welcome and comfortable during our stay. A long white sandy georgous beach, Carlisle Bay, is just a short walk away. Great place to snorkel with fish, coral and turtles! Local buses and taxis are easily accessible. I highly recommend trying food cooked by the hosts and also try the great fish cutters from the white van near the beach; cheap and delicious! Barbados consists of friendly people, yummy food and breath taking beaches from coast to coast. Thanks for a relaxing vacation!
This is a great, convenient budget option. The best part is the location - we visited lots of beaches around the island and really think Carlisle bay and Pebbles beach might have been the top because it's long, not very crowded, and the water is perfectly flat - don't know why they are not mentioned more in the guidebooks! Also very convenient to get the bus to other place - every time you step on the street there is a bus! Pack light and don't take a taxi to and from the airport when you can spend just $2 on a bus.
The hosts are very helpful, the place was clean, and the kitchen has everything you need. I recommend the sea turtle snorkeling excursion at Carlisle bay - the turtles were a lot cuter and more interesting than I even expected! I would also suggest that if you are a light sleeper you might want to bring earplugs because it is a small house with many guests staying, so you can always hear other people talking and moving around.
Hope you enjoy your trip to Barbados- we definitely did!
If you are looking for a homie feeling away from home that's the place. Shelly and Manuel are great hosts. The welcoming feeling and help around local places really made our trip easier. We were on a student budget and Shelly told us where to get fresh fruits and vegetables on a good price. The location is great as it's 2 minutes away from the beach and Bridgetown. We felt like we had the freedom to do whatever we needed to do in the house which gave us a really comfortable feeling.
If you are looking for a spot in Barbados this is it!! They made us feel like its family and we will definitely come back. :)
We stayed with Shelly and Manuel for a week and it was the best time of our lives! They are amazing people and hosts who were there whenever we needed anything. The house is very clean, spacious, centrally located for everything, only 5-minute walk from the best beach in Barbados. (Carlisle Bay) We went out every night and came back home around midnight and although we were two girls, we felt very safe walking back home.
Shelly provided great recommendations for restaurants and places to see. She gave us an island tour on our last day and we discovered the history and the culture of this amazingly beautiful island. But more importantly, we got to spend a day with Shelly which was one of the best parts of our vacation. Shelly is such a strong, intellectual and wise woman that she inspired us in many ways which made our short Barbados vacation transforming and refreshing. It was a privilege to know her.
We are very grateful and we highly recommend everybody to stay with them if you want to experience a real Bajan living.
