This unique, adorable romantic one bedroom beach cottage is in the perfect quiet location, just minutes from the ocean and close to restaurants and galleries on Prospect St.
There is laundry on site; wireless internet connection, and cable TV.
The location is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, diving, surfing, walking along the coast, viewing seals, golfing, kayaking, tennis, whale watching, and biking. There are grocery stores within walking distance. A 20 minute commute from the San Diego airport. A bus stops one block away which can take you to the UTC shopping mall and UCSD. Other nearby attractions include the Birch Aquarium, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, the Wild Animal Park, and the museums of Balboa Park.
There are two bikes (with helmets), beach chairs, and a beach umbrella for our guests to use.
La Jolla has the perfect mild climate all year round. The Cove is a wonderful spot for swimmers and there are different facing beaches for surfers. The village is attractive with its wonderful restaurants, galleries and shops.
There is no particular need for a car. We have bikes, you can walk to the stores and the bus stops a block away from the cottage. We are half a block from the ocean.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful the cottage is. We were greeted by Justin who is fantastic. He has check-in and out down to a science. Everything you need to know is in the online house manual. We had no need to reach out to Justin during our stay. The cottage is lovely, bright and very clean. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom stocked will all you need for your stay. There is a lovely common area with beautiful plants and lots of humming birds. The beach is a short walk away and you are around the corner form all the shopping and restaurants La Jolla has to offer. Thanks, Justin!
We absolutely enjoyed our one week stay at Cottage by the Cove. Justin was super prompt in his responses and very helpful when we arrived at a late hour because we had flight problems. The cottage is very homely and we felt comfortable immediately. As well as being comfortable the location is excellent. We walked into town both inthe daytime and then later for a meal in the evening. We were able to park our car right outside almost all the time. Overall? Excellent.
It is a great place with its own style. Very warm, bright and sunny. I'd definitely come back to this place. My parents had to stay one more night, Justin made it very easy for us, and since they actually arrived at this place two days later than reservation, we don't even have to pay extra.
Justin's Cottage is close to everything as claimed. The place is a short walk to the beach and tons of top notch restaurants. If you need groceries, Vons is not too far away. The cottage is charming and vintage, just right for 2 or 3 people. Justin welcomes you with detailed instructions, meets you personally, is quick on the response, and easy going. An excellent stay. Thank you, Justin.
Can't rave enough about the wonderful welcome I received from Justin, and how delighted I was to stay at the Cottages by the Cove!
Even though I said I could use the keybox, Justin met me personally, showed me where the laundry and bikes were kept, made sure everything was just right for my stay. I really appreciated the bike route to Mission Beach, which kept me off of busy streets, and the notes about where to by groceries and the Sunday Farmer's Market location. Justin told me where to go swimming, just blocks away, and let me know he was just a phone call away if anything came up. Neighborhood is wonderful, quiet and beautiful, just a short stroll to the Cove and all the shops and restaurants in the area. I've already booked my next trip, in January, and will make Justin's place my "home away from home" when visiting La Jolla. Thanks, Justin!
This was my wife's first time to the West Coast, and my first time staying in La Jolla. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It was exactly what we needed and the location can not be beat. We were a block away from all the restaurants and shops you could need or want during a vacation, and also a block from the ocean. The cottage was very clean and had everything you needed to cook if you wanted to stay in and eat. We used Justin's bikes a lot which was one of our favorite things. We biked along the coast and through some beautiful neighborhoods. La Jolla shores is just a two mile drive where we tried paddle boarding, and San Diego is just a short drive away as well. In our opinion, this was the best place in the San Diego area to stay. It has the most beautiful views and so much do to right in your own neighborhood. We will never stay in a hotel again if we can help it! Justin was a great host- he was there to let us in and show us around. Overall one of the best trips we have taken so far!
