The apartment is located on S.3rd & Bedford Avenue - which is the beginning of the popular Bedford Avenue Strip. It's in the quieter end of it so you will enjoy the benefits of this busy neighborhood in a quiet space.
You'll be half a block away from great restaurants, bars, shops, food markets, etc.
The apartment is 5 minutes away from the L train on the Bedford Avenue Stop, one stop to Manhattan and 5 minutes from Union Square. The L train will take you from the East side to the West side connecting you to all of the major subway lines in NYC.
It is also located 5 minutes away in the opposite direction from the J/M/Z lines. These lines will take to the center of the Lower East Side, Chinatown, City Hall, Wall Street, and Fulton Street which is a 7 minute walk from the South Street Seaport. The M train will take you directly into Midtown.

Cozy, warm, clean. No issues and everything well communicated. Very good location, central to everything in the area just off Bedford and near Driggs.
The apartment is charming and like the photos, its brilliantly placed right by Bedford Avenue for great bars and restaurants. Handy for the Marcy Ave subway (JMZ). The live in Managers are lovely and helpful, keeping themselves to themselves but approachable for questions. Though I still think the overview shouldn't say whole apartment when it isn't. (sharing a bathroom with no lock isn't a whole apartment to yourself)
The bathroom is small (as stated in lots of people's reviews) That's not a problem..however the hole in the bath and at the time of our visit the leaking ceiling wasn't ideal. (Lulu and Constance apologised and as its not their fault but a leak from the apartment above which is understandable but not great!) The only other thing I would say is the electrics are all pretty interesting, which in a really old building I guess should be expected, random sockets and the intermittent wiring on the living room light (Constance and Ronan can show you the hit the wall trick, but its not always successful!)
The five flights of stairs are quite an undertaking but we had thighs of steel by the end of the week!!
We were touched by the gesture of pumpkin pie and ham Constance and Ronan shared with us on Thanksgiving was lovely!
Overall great stay though make sure you have fully read and understood the WHOLE LISTING!!!
Thanks Constance, Ronan and Lulu.
I stayed at Lulu's place during a recent business visit during which my companion and I planned to be very busy. We needed a quiet space to spread out with a lot (a lot!) of equipment. Ronan and Constance -- the live-in managers -- were quiet as mice and, on the occasions we saw them, very pleasant and helpful. We clicked quickly and would have enjoyed having had the time to get to know them a little better than our trip allowed.
Everything about the apartment was exactly as advertised -- it was quiet, fully stocked, spacious and "cozy" without feeling cramped. Constance was very responsive to emails, as was Lulu, even though she lives in another country.
My only note of caution is to take heed that it is on the 5th floor of a walkup, as noted in the ad. Hauling a lot of heavy gear up to the apartment was a back breaker (but certainly not fault of the renter). It's something to keep in mind if you have very heavy bags or more than you can easily carry in one trip.
In all, a highly recommended place in a quiet neighborhood with excellent hosts.
We´ve had a wonderful time in a cool neighborhood. The flat is really cute and clean. We enjoyed our stay a lot - anytime again!
We just loved to stay in Lulu's place! It's a quiet, clean and beautiful apartment that tell us about the Brooklyn history.
The bed, towels and shiets were clean and nice! It was a little bit hard to "climb" all the stairs, but worth it!
The neighborhood is very secure and good, and the apartment is nearby the subway (Marcy station).
About Lulu: a very sweet person!! We are glad to meet her!
Lulu was a great host. The flat is frienly, clean and very welcoming, and situated in a great neighborhood. We enjoyed a lot to stay in one of the cafes and restaurants at night at Bedford Avenue which is just around the corner. Our little son Leander also enjoyed to stay here. Constance and Ronan were very pleasant flat managers. We hope to be back soon to this great place.
It is a wonderfull apartment, in hip Williamsburg. For my taste a little to hip, but since the appartment is in a quieter street it is a good hideout after a long day walking New York.
The flatmates Constnce and Ronan are nice and you barely even see them, but this is not an appartment you have to yourself. It is however very bright colorful and clean, such that even a grey day seems sunny ;)
I really enjoyed my stay in this lovely apartment, and would definitely recommend it. The apartment is very tidy and well-looked after with a homely feel. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The location is great here, a short walk to a range of fun eateries and a subway stop. Would most definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful time in the apartment! It is lovely, nicely decorated and the perfect place to relax, chill, talk or to make some quick pancakes in the morning. Perfectly situated, right by Bedford Ave in Williamsburg with loads of cool cafés, bars, shops, and even close to the water front :-) Lulu was a great host and Constance was very helpful in giving advices - they both really made us feel at home. We will come back whenever possible. THANK YOU!
Lulu's apartment was exactly as advertised, and Constance was very helpful during our stay. Thanks so much to both of you!
