Cabane au Bois, enjoys a beautiful location in the forest with lake views. Layout: 1 room with kitchen equipped with gas stove, sink and refrigerator, dining table with three chairs and two armchairs, two single beds afm. 80 x 200 cm. Bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. The lac can not be swollen but in the swimming pool (picture) with a diameter of 6 meters.

Rouffignac Saint Cernin de Reilhac: 4.5 km small characteristic village with a few nice squares and the highlight of the church, which has since been mentioned as the historical monument, due to its unique ornaments since 1900.
Here is also the nearest supermarket (Carrefour). Opening hours from 08:00 to 20:00 and from 09:00 to 13:00.

Périgueux, the capital of the department of the Dordogne and 30 minutes away has a beautiful church (similar to the Sacré Coeur in Paris), a beautiful museum around the excavations of a Roman house and two very cozy markets on wednesdays and saturdays and fun Shops.
Sarlat is famous for its beautiful medieval streets and the extensive Saturday market and is about 40 km away and 45 minutes drive.
Bergerac is 60 km away and an hour's drive and is also very worthwhile to visit because of the Chateau de Mont Bazillac with its beautiful view over the wine region.
Bordeaux is a beautiful city, well worth a visit. Driving distance about 2 hours.

The cave
Grotte de Rouffignac 10 km, you can enter the cave by train. In addition to the famous stalactites and stalagmites, prehistoric drawings can be seen here.
La Grotte de Lascaux in Montignac 24 km, the most impressive wall paintings from prehistory.

Walking: in the area are wonderful walks.
Directly from the terrain you follow the yellow poles and you can take a walk around.
The red-white mark is from Grand Randonnee No. 36 which also comes along the grounds.

Bicycles can be done, but it requires a lot more effort than cycling in flat country. The Dordogne is hilly.
This is, of course, a fantastic challenge for race cyclists and mountain bikers.

Wineries visit, the wines of the various appellations in the Bergérac about 1 hour drive are great wines and have won a lot of quality in recent years. A little further away is the Bordeaux region with its famous wines and wineries. A real recommend is Saint-Emilion 40 km east of Bordeaux. 2000 years of wine history on the banks of the Dordogne River.

Met ons beider ondernemersgeest zijn we vol energie aan het avontuur begonnen om van 'Les Cabanes de Rouffignac' een kleinschalig vakantiepark te maken dat voldoet aan criteria die wij zelf ook zouden stellen; basic doch comfortabel en van deze tijd, voldoende privacy maar ook contact met anderen, kleinschalig, midden in de natuur maar toch dichtbij voorzieningen en boeiende bezienswaardigheden. In 'Les Cabanes de Rouffignac' willen wij onze gasten het 'echte' Frankrijk gevoel laten beleven....
