The space
This Spanish Colonial patio-style home takes advantage of the mild climate and outdoor living that is popular in Mexico. The home embodies many architectural elements of style: wooden ceiling beams, archways with cantera columns, hand painted tiles on the stair risers, terracotta floor and roof tiles, fountains, courtyards and patios, boveda ceilings, built-in niches, cut steel work on light fixtures.

The two ensuite bedrooms are on the first level and open onto the interior courtyard. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed with a 3-inch foam memory mattress topper, high quality built-in wooden drawers and closets, a safe, gas log fireplace, ceiling fan and locking door. The second bedroom has a built-in desk area.

Bathroom amenities include luxury quality towels, spa bathrobes and slippers and a tray of Maja of Spain toiletries.

Outdoor stairs lead to the second-floor dining/living/kitchen and outdoor patios.

Green products for the home include Woolzie dryer balls, Wet-It cloths from Sweden, cloth napkins, LED lightbulbs, cloth shopping bags.

Guest access
In addition to the casa you have shared access to the home's entryway, laundry room and the upper terrace.

Please wait until 9 am before turning on the fountain and/or using the laundry facilities.

The home is separated into two entities.

Inside the front entryway is the private entrance to a 2-story casita that is rented seperately on Airbnb. These guests have shared used of the entryway, laundry room and upper terrace. You can rent both units which will sleep a total of six.

Other things to note
We do not live on the property and would be very appreciative if you could plan your arrival during the scheduled 3pm - 7pm check-in time. Please message through Airbnb, or call us, if there is any delay in your arrival (i.e., delayed flights, traffic due to weather, etc.).

Location

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico

The area is a residential neighborhood of friendly, working-class multi-generational Mexican families and retired Americans and Canadians. It would not be considered upscale but is easily walkable into town. It is safe, the streets are well lit at night. Nearby is a small plaza and stone church.

The Biblioteca Publica is literally down the street. It serves many purposes; library, cultural center, café, shopping and offers free classes for the youth of our town.
