Private en suite bedroom in the coach house beside a stunning mill pond in the grounds of a Georgian House & Mill Complex, just across a small couryard from the main house . We are 4 kms from Durrow (and Castle Durrow) and from M8 and have gardens to enjoy, dogs to play with and interesting walks nearby. Handy for Castle Durrow, we can happily drop you down if you are attending a function at the Castle

The space

A spacious double bedroom simply furnished with antique brass european king size bed, en suite bathroom totally tucked away in the coach house with only the sound of the mill race to disturb you, but adjacent to the main house and the other cottages where we live now and where a light breakfast is served and where you are welcome to join us if and when you want.

Guest access

The accommodation is a private room in the coach house of a bustling Georgian House and Mill complex, guests are welcome to join us and our family in the main house as much as they would like - we have numerous sitting rooms, offices etc and a constantly active kitchen, or they can relax in the spacious landscaped gardens including escaping to the tree house ! We have stables and can offer livery as an extra, dogs are also welcome to join the current motley crew.

Interaction with guests

We live on site and like to welcome guests as friends and help them make the most of their visit to this part of Hidden Ireland, whilst offering them as much peace and privacy as they would like

Other things to note

We have great space to garage motor bikes and facilities for pannier storage and hoses etc. We also have stables and paddocks and which are available on prior request

We loved our stay at Taras. The houses or shall I say houses are magnificent. The history of the buildings from the early 1800s is palpable. The house and gardens are huge and charming. The en-suite room, was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Tara did absolutely everything to make us feel at home. The check in and check out time was very flexible. We were welcomed with a cup of tea and she gave us great advice on what to do and where to eat in the area. The next morning we woke up to a lovely home cooked full irish breakfast. Highly recommendable!

Tara has a lovely home with friendly doggies! She was a good host and gave us good suggestions about what to see nearby and how to get there. Her home does have a few cobwebs and some dust here and there, and you may have to clean a dish or two if you want to make dinner in the kitchen. The bed is a bit on the firm side. However, her home is a pleasure to walk around and look at and Tara is very helpful.

I moved here with my husband Anthony in 2008 after we had spent quite a lot of time travelling for his career in sailing Stars, and now live here with our children, dogs and horses working from home and have been restoring the mill and outbuildings , - I live in the main house and offer any guest as much privacy as they would like - but also like to welcome guests as family.

We both have a great interest in cooking & food, have a thriving vegetable garden and aim to provide most of our vegetables from it; we love sports in general, rugby sailing polo and hunting in particular, and would be described as people people !!
