My husband and I stayed in Anne's lovely home over Valentine's weekend. Anne's home is comfy and clean and located on a little piece of paradise overlooking the Carmel River and beautiful ridge line of the nearby regional park. Anne is gracious, welcoming, and helpful. We cooked a light breakfast each morning and one dinner in the home's well-equipped kitchen, which helped save on restaurant expenses. We also ate a couple of meals in the nearby village which has many great restaurants. In the evenings we sat outside under a star filled sky, listening to rushing river.
Anne was so helpful and kind, from the beginning when we were booking the house and to the last day we did not know where to go because of the bad weather. She gave us a lot of local tricks and we really had a good time during the 3 day vacation. BTW, Anne kindly prepared us yummy treats and snacks for everyday.
Regarding the house, the living room and kitchen are huge and comfortable. The bedrooms are large enough for our groups, 5 gals and 3 guys. There is a fireplace in the living room, keeping the room so warm even in the winter. Quite and safe neighborhood!
My partner and friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and tidy and much larger than it had seemed in the pictures online. We had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was wonderful to cool in, she has compost and recycling. We enjoyed sitting in the beautiful gardens and drinking our morning coffee (which is provided). Anne was a charming and extremely hospitable host. She gave us details of local hiking trails and activities as well as possible locations to film, as my group and I were in the area to shoot a music video. She really went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was comfortable. I have stayed at many hikes in the area yet will be sure to return to this one again and again.
Anne was a wonderful hostess and managed the house to be shared by 2 parties well. She even baked us treats daily! The house is immaculate and she was very flexible with the accommodations. My team and I truly enjoyed our stay and the beautiful scenic views of the Carmel Valley.
My fiancée and I took a trip to Carmel Valley over Valentine's day weekend and had a wonderful time. Anne was a wonderful host! She made us delicious muffins for our arrival, gave us invaluable advice on which wineries to visit (and avoid!), and let us store our bicycles on her porch. Our room was cozy and comfortable, the living room and fireplace were wonderful after a long day of traveling, and she let us borrow a set of domino's to play. I would definitely stay with Anne and her pack of friendly dogs again.
Anne's home is quite conveniently located near Carmel and Big Sur. In addition to being right in front of a huge hiking reserve, this retreat is also close to several high quality and decent restaurants and wine tasting spots.
As a host, Anne and her husband made sure to make us feel comfortable and welcome for our brief stay. She baked us some delicious blueberry muffins and had fresh brewed coffee everyday before we woke up. At night she always had a fire burning in the cozy living room. She was also very generous with her time, funny stories, and sharing some secret hikes and gems in the area! Taco, the dog, is quite cute and friendly. Anne is a truly kind and generous person.
Thanks for the wonderful stay Anne! Also thanks for the plant, we have it growing in our home in Berkeley!
Anne's place in Carmel Valley is very nice.
The very spacious room has 2-double beds and a pair of twin beds - one above the other. The bathroom is clean and has towels and toiletries.
There is a beautiful fireplace at the entrance. It's quaint and looks antique. Anne's friend fired it up in the evening - it was very poretty and makes a great sitting area to sip some wine. The kitchen is huge and stocked with all kinds of interesting things. We used it for tea in the morning - but it would be a delight to cook there.
Anne was specially helpful with tips of little secret hikes in the area and some fantastic restaurant recommendations for brunch and dinner. She even gave us a little discount coupon for the Whale watching trip in Monterey!
Thank you Ann and see you again!
