Interaction with Guests
I like to interact with my guest know them and learn their needs.
I like my neighborhood because is a multicultural neighborhood with friendly people. The park is in a walking distance and bicycle trails are nearby. The Arboretum is a few minutes away where you can walk , run and enjoy nature. You can also get your snow shoes or skies and enjoy the park during the winter.
The public transit is very convenient and the bus station is near by. My guest have off street parking.
I expect my guest to use common sense and respect my neighbors. I do allow pets.
I don't allow smoking in the building.
We didn't meet Gerardo, but he was very responsive and timely by text and the apartment was very easy to access.
The photos represent the apartment well. Overall it was clean and a good size for two people or a small family.
The location was decent with a nice park a few blocks away. Madison is relatively small so it's only a 15 minute drive to downtown and an easy bike ride, but it's not the best location for walking to restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
There were a few drawback to the apartment. Another tenant in the building smokes and the hallway smelled quite strong of cigarettes. The apartment itself didn't smell like smoke, but did have a somewhat musty smell. If you are sensitive to odors this may be an issue. The neighbor also has a very aggressive and loud dog. They keep it on a leash, but it scared my son. The dog also lives in the apartment above and could be heard running around at late as midnight and as early as 5 am.
We didn't meet Gerardo, but were very appreciative that he was easy to communicate with and able to accommodate a very late arrival time.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure that the juice is worth the squeeze with this one. Clumsy guests are forewarned: the light switch near the front door doesn't work and the rugs are very slippery on the hardwood (especially in the dark). The amenities and listing should also be updated for accuracy. We were relying on having shampoo, cream/sugar for coffee, and wifi access during our cross country road trip, so we were disappointed.
Gerardo was out of town when we stayed at his place, but he was really easy to always get into contact with and maintained excellent communication with us. You can tell that Gerarado puts a lot of effort into keeping the apartment really clean, which we really appreciated. The apartment has a very nice and GIANT tv with every channel you could imagine. The neighborhood is culturally diverse and has mix of family homes and apartment buildings.
The listing is accurate; the place looks just like the photos. This was a great place to stay out of the centre of Madison, though we would recommend having a car to get around. Gerardo left the keys to the apartment in a lock box which was easy to work and allowed us to let ourselves in. Whilst we didn't meet Gerardo during our stay, he was on hand via text. The one thing that would have improved our stay here would be a guide pack, including basics like the wifi code and directions to nearby grocery stores.
Gerardo was great and worked with my weird arrival and departure schedule to make sure I could get in okay. His apartment was easy to find and there was off-street parking behind the building. I wasn't there long enough to make any meals, but the kitchen has plenty of dishes, etc for people who want to cook during their stay.
The best of Madison ! If you want to enjoy a quiet stay in the city and take advantage of the leafy, calm feel that the city has to offer than don't look further ! This place is just perfect for a couple or even more as Gerardo also provides you with a queen size air mattress in addition to the very comfy bed ! The apartment is newly remodeled and very practical yet cozy. Parking is convenient, the house is well equipped with new appliances and the neighbors are very welcoming and speak highly of Gerardo ! You will need a car to access downtown or go for a day ride around the city, you can also catch a bus within 10 mn walk alongside the community garden. Gerardo was a wonderful host ( even though we only communicated via email and phone) left us a welcome gift and was quick to respond! Thank you and hope to come back soon!

About the Host, Gerardo
I am an easy going person. I work hard but also like to have fun. I enjoy meeting new people. I am new to Airbnd but I want to make sure that your stay in Madison is worth the trip and that you feel right at home when you are here. I enjoy Capoeira, merenge and tango!
