Gerardo was an awesome host! He got the place ready for us last minute late on Sunday night on very short notice. We already had another place that ended up being filthy when we got there. Through a combination of Airbnb's excellent customer service and Gerardo's flexibility and helpfulness, we ended up with a very nice place!
Everything was great! The apartment was cozy and the bed was very comfy! Although we did not meet Gerardo he made us feel very welcome in this apartment. I would definitely stay here again!
The place was exactly as described. We only stayed one night and were unable to meet Gerardo but the apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable, there were good towels, etc. Thanks for letting us stay!
My kids (ages 4 and 2) had a very enjoyable 4 night stay. I especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and (as many others have mentioned) how very clean the apartment was. The building and the neighborhood were very quiet - and we were a short drive from everything we wanted to see. For traveling with kids - the large walk-in closet (without a door) made an awesome sleeping area for a twin air mattress or pack and play. Gerardo was very responsive and dropped by shortly after our arrival to make sure everything was fine.
We arrived to find a neat, clean apartment with all the conveniences of home. It appears it has been newly renovated with new floors and carpet. There was plenty of space for the two of us and our dog. The kitchen was small but well equipped. The apartment experience made the idea of staying in a motel seem quaint. We especially liked exploring an area of Madison off the beaten track where your average family or older grad student might live with a community garden and a quite little park. Although the area was quiet and not urban feeling everything
(the capital, lakes etc.) was all a short drive away.
We go to Madison 2-3 times a year and we will definitely keep this apt. in mind for future trips.
Gerardo was available for questions and visited just to make sure all was well. We would recommend this place to anyone with a dog or in need of a little more space than a motel.
We didn't meet Gerardo, but he was very responsive and timely by text and the apartment was very easy to access.
The photos represent the apartment well. Overall it was clean and a good size for two people or a small family.
The location was decent with a nice park a few blocks away. Madison is relatively small so it's only a 15 minute drive to downtown and an easy bike ride, but it's not the best location for walking to restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
There were a few drawback to the apartment. Another tenant in the building smokes and the hallway smelled quite strong of cigarettes. The apartment itself didn't smell like smoke, but did have a somewhat musty smell. If you are sensitive to odors this may be an issue. The neighbor also has a very aggressive and loud dog. They keep it on a leash, but it scared my son. The dog also lives in the apartment above and could be heard running around at late as midnight and as early as 5 am.
We didn't meet Gerardo, but were very appreciative that he was easy to communicate with and able to accommodate a very late arrival time.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure that the juice is worth the squeeze with this one. Clumsy guests are forewarned: the light switch near the front door doesn't work and the rugs are very slippery on the hardwood (especially in the dark). The amenities and listing should also be updated for accuracy. We were relying on having shampoo, cream/sugar for coffee, and wifi access during our cross country road trip, so we were disappointed.

About the Host, Gerardo
I am an easy going person. I work hard but also like to have fun. I enjoy meeting new people. I am new to Airbnd but I want to make sure that your stay in Madison is worth the trip and that you feel right at home when you are here. I enjoy Capoeira, merenge and tango!
