The spacious room with beautiful woodland views. The house is set in the middle of the farm with green fields all around. 5 miles from Brittas Bay 15 miles to Glendalough it is a perfect base to experience magic County Wicklow.
Springfarm is a working sheep farm set in beautiful rural surroundings with amazing walks available without ever going onto a road.
Guests will have freedom to roam on the farm, to enjoy all aspects of farm life.
Interaction with Guests
Guests are welcome to be with us in all aspects of our work on the farm if possible. We live and work on the farm so will be available to interact with our guests during the day.
We are near some beautiful beaches, the Wicklow mountains and historical Glendalough. Also closer to the farm is the beautiful vale of Avoca and Mount Usher Gardens.
The best way to see Wicklow is to have your own transport.
Selena, Alex and their kids were fabulous hosts! They welcomed me into their home and made me feel very comfortable, like family. I had great conversations will all of them over my stay, and I chose to stay a bit longer.
The farm is beautiful and Selena showed me a sweet little hike around the property. Great views from the hike! The location is pretty convenient to several nearby attractions, but you must have a car. This is a WORKING sheep farm, so be prepared for a bit of mud, hay and animals.
They are also working on several additional spaces for Air B&B folks to stay in and I think that they will be quite nice!
We loved staying with the McKenzie family- they were all very nice and fun to talk too. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the bed is very comfy. The room is just as nice as it looks in the pictures and the farm itself is located in a beautiful landscape-no need to get in the car to drive somewhere for nice walks!
Oh my gosh we could go on for paragraphs about our stay with Selena and Alex!
Our arrival was a bit tricky with directions but we figured out it out pretty quickly with the help of our GPS. The farm is amazingly! They have such a wonderful home and Selena greeted us with hugs, glasses of wine and great conversation around the kitchen table! We met the other guests staying there and we all chatted for awhile! We hadn't had dinner when we arrived and luckily for us Selena was able to contact the local pub and give them a heads up that we were on our way! We had some great fish and chips there!
They have the most lovable pets! Five friendly dogs and two cats! Our room was so big, clean and comfortable! They had a piano they allowed us to play and said they enjoyed having the music in the house!
In the morning they were up and about with their daily routines on the farm but kept an eye out for when we woke up! Selena prepared a great breakfast for us! They then allowed us to wander their farm and meet the animals! We saw fields of sheep, met their horses and pigs and all with their littlest dog Thistle as our guide!
All in all we really loved our stay here!
The McKenzie family was a very welcoming start to our Ireland trip and a gem of a find on airbnb. We were given a fantastic recommendation for dinner, treated to wine and lovely conversation upon our return and given freedom to roam the farm as we pleased. The rustic beauty of the whole place is just what you think of when you close your eyes and dream of the green isle.
We had an amazing time here! Selena gave us a wonderful warm welcome and was super accommodating, filling us in on nice local walks and the lay of the land. The room was perfect - and the area is totally beautiful! I would recommend this incredible sheep farm to anyone, we had a brilliant nights stay and would definitely return. Hopefully soon!
Lovely room in a lovely family home. Unfortunately we did not get to spend too much time at the house but we were felt more than welcome by all the family who were great for chats and information about the local area. The room is fab with a bathroom just across the hall. Internet is great and breakfast was left in the room for us as we were up and out super early both mornings.
Staying with Selena and her family for the week of Christmas was a wonderful and memorable experience. They were so kind and welcoming. We loved the chats and breakfast! The farm is beautiful. The views are breathtaking. The room is spacious and bed is cozy. We would highly recommend staying with Selena and her family if your traveling to Ireland. You won't be disappointed!
