This is an absolutely gorgeous and welcoming home to stay in! We would have loved to stay longer/own the home ourselves! It has a beautiful kitchen with high ceilings, cozy living room, bedroom, another room with a couch/pullout bed, screened in porch, and bathroom with a walk-in shower. It was just the two of us but we had plenty of room to entertain some visitors. We took a hike on the trails across the street and enjoyed seeing deer up close and other wildlife. The property itself has a frog pond and gardens to explore.
Any and all amenities that you could think of are there (kitchen items, bathroom towels, extra toiletries, ironing board, washer & dryer, books, movies, games, etc.).
Colleen was so welcoming and patient with us considering we arrived later than anticipated. She gave us the grand tour and provided us with information for the area.
It is located right in the heart of Oneonta yet is very secluded and private. A 30-40 minute scenic drive to Delhi, Walton and Cooperstown.
We have no complaints and hope to return in the future!
Rose Cottage has the feel of a modern rustic retreat with a lush garden out the back door that draws one into nature. Yet, you are minutes from downtown and surrounding attractions. Colleen pays good attention to detail, which makes the home very comfortable. She is available for needs, but allows for privacy. It was the perfect haven for our exploration of the area.
As a first time user of Air BnB this set a pretty high bar. The accommodations are lovely, spacious, and comfortable. The kitchen and cookware were updated and made cooking for me and my guests very enjoyable. The main bed was very comfortable although then pullout couch was less so. All the little extras (like, a grill, dvd player with movies, enough towels for everyone) really made our stay so much easier than I was expecting. Brava ! Thank you so much.
The Rose Cottage is absolutely lovely! The setting is beautiful, as is the home itself - with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Colleen was a great host and even came by and dropped off a hairdryer for me to use. I would highly recommend a stay at the Rose Cottage.
This was a lovely cottage for our two nights in Oneonta. It was a private getaway that was also convenient to campus and town. We would happily stay here again.
Our weekend at Rose Cottage in Oneonta was a terrific experience. Colleen was an excellent host and met us at the cottage when we arrived, despite an ever-changing arrival time. The space is actually nicer than what is seen in the photos and the serenity of the property makes me sure I will contact Colleen about staying there again when I return to the Catskills.
We had one of the best experiences at Colleen's house this weekend! My husband and I got married at the nearby Gilbertsville Farm House and used the cottage as a type of home base. The house was one of the most beautiful airbnbs I've ever stayed in, and the garden was especially great! Check in was seamless and Colleen goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome. Would definitely love to stay here again! You can't beat the location!
About the Host, Colleen
I'm from the west coast originally but have been in beautiful NY for 25 years. I love this area with it's green rolling hills, forests, rivers and lakes. My interest in nature also extends to botanical gardens for their medicinal and food value as well as their beauty.
