  • The pictures don't do this place justice. This is an adorable cottage with ample space and a porch that faces a beautiful garden that was in full bloom. It has a beautiful kitchen, high ceilings, and a spacious bedroom, along with 2 living areas. The property is private and secluded while being close to restaurants and Main st. Oneonta. We also visited Cooperstown and the baseball hall of fame, which was an easy 30 minute drive from the cottage.

Colleen was responsive and communicative. We didn't meet her in person, but she gave great information via phone and a detailed instruction sheet upon arrival. She had fresh eggs and other breakfast food available for us and plenty of coffee and tea.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer and more relaxing weekend getaway!

  • The perfect Cooperstown/northern Catskills getaway home! Our stay in the Rose Cottage couldn't have been more pleasant. Colleen graciously greeted us latecomers with a cheerful smile, undeservedly so, as we had managed to take a wrong turn on the way there. Regardless, she generously left us with a stocked and prepped kitchen, as well as two simple but lovely bedrooms and a gorgeous garden. I would come back in a heartbeat, as would someone else in our clan: my 6 year old son now wants to move to Oneonta! A great inaugural airbnb experience.

  • Colleen's property was fantastic! We had a lovely time and did not want to leave! It was clean, neat, updated, comfortable, and convenient. I want her kitchen in my house! Colleen herself was very flexible and accommodating with our vague arrival time, and we had everything we could possibly need at the cottage. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

  • Colleen was the first host we ever stayed with on Airbnb, and the experience was wonderful. She was always quick to respond to questions, available by phone, text and email, and made the whole experience pleasant and enjoyable. Rose Cottage Retreat was well-maintained, cozy, and stocked with everything we needed and then some. We would definitely visit again.

  • The Rose Cottage is a beautiful home and my husband and I had a very relaxing and romantic time there. Located just a couple miles from town, we opted to walk to lunch one day and take a taxi other days (at 6$/ride we felt this was a great option). The myriad windows in the cottage allowed us to fully enjoy the peaceful and almost daily snowfall. It was important for us to remain undisturbed in order to de-stress and focus on our work and we were able to do exactly that. Although we were mostly self-sufficient, Colleen made herself available as her home is just down the road. Will definitely keep this place on the re-visit list.

  • We had a wonderful time. Colleen was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. She had lots of great information about the local area. The cottage was exactly as described. It had an amazing kitchen, a comfy living room with a gas fireplace, and a lot of great nature and field guides. It's only two miles from the center of the the city's downtown, but tucked away in a quiet, private area. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Great overall experience. I highly recommend anyone to stay here. Great setting just tucked away outside the village private but within minutes to everything you could need in the town.

  • Colleen was a gracious host and the place was great, exactly as described. Cabin is cozy and warm with the fireplace and the kitchen is amazing and has everything you could possibly need. Also the property behind the house has some nice hiking trails, we enjoyed a few winter hikes which were beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.

About
I'm from the west coast originally but have been in beautiful NY for 25 years. I love this area with it's green rolling hills, forests, rivers and lakes. My interest in nature also extends to botanical gardens for their medicinal and food value as well as their beauty.
