This is a gorgeous home in the heart of the sleepy town Ginestas. It is perfectly located in the minervois region to explore it. The house is lovely and was clean upon arrival with Guillermina being available for any requests. You should really stay minimum of 5 nights as we only stayed 4 but could have done with an extra day. The mountain bikes are awesome to explore the canal du midi and there are a number of equestrian facilities to also do a horse ride along the canal. Brilliant stay!
A lovely house, everything as described. Very spacious, lots of traditional atmosphere, lovely garden. Good position for the village. As previous guests have said it's ideal location if you are attending a wedding at the nearby chateau. I can't recommend highly enough. All correspondence with the host was most efficient.
Wow! We came to Ginestas for a wedding and I think we probably had the best accomodation of all the guests who attended! The house looks rather petit from the outside but once inside it is so spacious; full of light and air! Beautifully equipted kitchen and a super comfortable living room, very tastefully decorated. The fire place looked very inviting and I think would be a wonderfully cozy place to stay for Christmas. The garden provided great shade from the afternoon sun and although we sadly weren't able to use them in the time we had in Ginestas, there were two sturdy road bikes available for our use. Next time we visit we look forward to riding them the short distance to the Canal de Midi.
The house couldn't have been better positioned for the short walk to the commerces: news agents/tabac, cafe/restaurant and a food store/bakery.
Guiller and I kept in touch via text and email and all arrangements made for gaining access went without a hitch. For myself and my husband it couldn't have been better! Merci beaucoup to both Guiller and Bert!
This a beautiful house in a lovely village. The garden is perfect and has lots of shade. The house is very comfortable and stylish. We hope to stay there again.
This is a lovely, and beautifully renovated village house in a great location for exploring much the Languedoc has to offer. A previous reviewer has described it as upscale and we would agree. Downstairs consists of two large connected rooms (plus a downstairs toilet) - a great kitchen and a huge lounge with very comfortable seating. We went in late sep/early oct and weather was hot so no need for any heating - although we think it would be lovely in winter with the huge log burner going. The photos of the house are entirely accurate and reflect the charm and style of the place. Upstairs has an amazing 'corridor' running from front to back with juliet balconies either end. 2 bedrooms are off the corridor as well as a large modern bathroom - again all very comfortable. The garden is sheltered and a great place to eat outside. Guillermina met us at Toulouse airport when we flew in and was very helpful, answering all questions. She also responded very quickly to a couple of texts we sent during our stay. Overall we found the house to be wonderfully relaxing and it was a real delight to stay somewhere with so much character and taste. We would love to go back.
This is a beautiful home in a small village in the Minervois wine region. It's been restored and renovated with all the modern conveniences, and is stocked with all the kitchen equipment you could ever need. I wish my kitchen at home was this nice! We only used the one bedroom, overlooking the garden, which had a very comfortable queen size bed with high quality linens. The second bedroom seemed equally nice. Upstairs bathroom is large and there is a small powder room downstairs. Loved spending time in the small, grassy yard, including a hammock! There are also 2 mountain bikes (VTT) which we used to ride along the Canal du Midi and through vineyards one day.
In town, there is a bakery, corner store, and 2 restaurants, all within a few minutes walk. We highly recommend the pizzas and house wine (and everything else we tried) at L'Anaïs. We went 3 times. There is also a wine bar that seemed quite lively, but we didn't realize it's only open Thurs - Sat, so we missed it. Note that neither restaurant is open for dinner on Sun/Mon, so be sure to plan accordingly. There is a grocery store in St. Marcel sur Aude (only open until noon on Sunday).
We loved this home and the hosts were very gracious and helpful. Note that this house may not be suitable for small children - the staircase is open to the living room with no railing.
Spacious 2 bedroom house with peaceful garden with bbq and surroundings. Pictures are accurate and Ginestas is a friendly and tranquil village. The hosts are very welcoming and flexible. Baby bed was provided for us as well as a high chair which was great!
