We live with our two daughters in the adjacent main Victorian house. I work for a technology company,. Our two daughters are 12 and 13. We are a busy family, but are here to help you with anything you may need during your stay. We just started with Airbnb and look forward to our guests' input in order to improve our service and amenities. Our goal is to make you feel at home and experience a very pleasant stay.
Right downtown, on a tree lined street populated with beautiful Victorians, and in front of the quaint O'Donnell's Gardens, a small manicure public park.
La Casita is right downtown, 5 to 10 minutes walking distance to SJ Convention Center, SJSU, shopping, restaurants, The Tech Museum and SJ MOMA, the California Theater home of Opera San Jose, art galleries of South First Street with its South First Fridays events, movie theaters, and the light rail system which takes you to different surrounding areas. It is just 5 min drive from Santana Row, Westfield Mall, SJ Airport, and Caltrain station to Palo Alto (27 minutes one stop to University Ave).

The property was in great location! 10 minute walk for where I needed to be every day! Hosts were very accommodating and easy to contact for any issues! And the cost was very affordable for the week!
I must say this is my worst Airbnb experience. The lady that welcomed us was not specifically friendly, and we almost felt we were disturbing. The second bed was not installed though I had mentioned I would be there with a colleague. The sheets were not ironed and seemed to have already been used (spots on the pillows). The bathroom was not clean either (hair on the floor). The sofa looks dirty. Before leaving, the lady did not ask us about anything about us, and did not give us any advise. The house is more 20mn walking from the convention center, and the neighborhood where the house is, is not particularly nice. In the end one of us went to a hotel closer to the convention center, and the other one left one day earlier. I do not recommend it.
I am totally surprised about this review. This is the first time in more than 20 reviews that I have this reaction, totally out of the blue. I wasnt contacted at all by the guest during their full stay. I have a second bed ready but wasnt asked about it at all. I knew it was two people but understood it was a couple but would have definetely organized the second bed if i had known. Once they arrived, i wondered but felt it would be too intruding to ask whether they were using one or two beds so i didnt want to disturbe. If there is such a simple issue as requiring a second bed, i wonder why the guest didnt just mentioned. They arrived mid afternoon and we were home as they could appriciate. The sheets, full bedding, towels, everything is washed for each new guests. Right, we dont iron everything but this is not a hotel. We respect the privacy of our guest, we are friendly but dont want to seem interfering or just cheat chatting. And the convention center is around 10 minutes walk. I am sorry this wasnt a good experience and just wished they would have communicated on the different issues so that we could have addressed them.
La Casita was a great place to stay for my conference at the convention center. Jose-Maria accurately represented the home and left excellent instructions. It was convenient for parking and for getting to the convention center and not having to pay for parking at the convention center was great too. It was clean and had everything i needed.
La Casita is in a really nice neighborhood, very close to the convention center. I was able to take morning runs around the university, get breakfast and go to my conference. The bed is wonderful, I wasn't sure when I first sat on it, but I slept so well. This was a wonderful stay and would do it again if brought to San Jose on business.
I had a very nice 2-day stay. The host was responsive, well organized and kind, and I appreciated that he wanted to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The place was just as advertised. Clean, quiet, comfortable, private, and fairly priced. The rental is in a garden cottage on the property. There's one large, main room, a small simple kitchen, and small bathroom. The location is about 6 blocks from the Convention Center, and about 2 blocks from the San Jose State University campus. It's on a wide, quiet, tree-lined street with old homes, not far from busier parts of town. There's a convenience store/liquor store a half-block up the street, and a two casual restaurants within 2 blocks.
I stayed at La Casita for 6 nights as I was attending a conference at the nearby convention center. I had a great experience! The house is clean and comfortable. As stated in the description, it's just a short walk to downtown and although I didn't need it, the hosts provided a parking permit, which would be great for anyone driving in! I would recommend La Casita to anyone who has business at the convention center, university, or city hall and would like a more home-like environment.
La Casita was perfect for what I needed. I was in San Jose for a conference, the house was in a good location and Jose-Maria was very accommodating even when I ended up arriving in the middle of the might after delayed flights. I would definitely stay he again. Thanks!

I live in San Jose with my young daughter. I come originally from Spain. Currently work in finance in the high tech industry. I am an active guest of airbnb when i travel in the US or Europe and are a big supporter of their concept. On my free time, i swim masters with a swim team, take care of the garden, enjoy my time with my 12 year old daughter Charlotte who is a very dedicated dance student, also in her free time. We go to Spain a couple of times a year to visit family and take care of our Summer home in La Mancha.
