The Space

We (my husband, 17 y.o. son and I) live 30 minutes South of Seattle in a very typical and safe residential neighborhood. We are 30 minutes away from the SeaTac airport. The house is fairly large with a separate bedroom and bathroom for guests. Your bed is extremely comfortable! WiFi is available. No pets at home, though we have a cat who lives outside. No smoking in the house. Public transportation is not the best here, so you'd be better off having a car! Or we can give you a lift to the train station where you can take a train to Seattle. There is a bus system, but it is quite slow and not too frequent. Seattle is funky and wonderful with a ton of things to do and discover. We also live just an hour away from one of the best American skiing resorts - Crystal Mt. We are kind people and welcome tired travelers! You are welcome to use our full kitchen, fridge, and laundry room. Hot organic coffee is always offered in the morning! If you want some breakfast, I will be happy to accommodate your request! We are also seriously into health and wellness, so our household equipment is available for you to use - VitaMix blender, juicers, treadmill, infra-red sauna and fresh greens from the outdoor garden! If you are into fitness, a great neighborhood gym is just 5 min away! We become friends with mostly every guest, so we are looking forward to meeting YOU!

  • We were very pleased with the stay at Irina's house. We had to leave early in the morning and Irina and her husband accommodated our schedule and made us coffee. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

  • We felt very accommodated here, as they were willing to work with our schedule. We were served a delicious breakfast of waffles one morning and pancakes the next along with superb coffee. Overall we were very satisfied!

  • CLEAN, WARM and WELCOMING is what I expected when I decided to stay at Irina Saibeni's house for two weeks while working as a physician at a local clinic.

CLEAN: There were molds growing at the bottom one foot of the shower curtain. There was food stain on the comforter that you see on the photograph. Sheets were old but clean. Bed was comfortable. Irina gave you an old but clean wash cloth and a towel. She also said you can use her washer and dryer which I did. Of the ten or so drawers in the room, about 8 were filled with brim with their clothes. The closet was filled with boxes and suitcases, so there was little room for your stuff. I lived out of my suit case.

WARM: If this was to indicate Irina's emotional temperature, I did not feel it. I have NEVER seen Irina smile like in the picture during the two weeks I was there. Sometimes when you asked her about her day, she did not even turn around. She seemed tense and grumpy. Ted, Irina's husband, was warm. He made up for her bad mood.

WELCOMING: Irina never offered to make any breakfast for me although other people have talked about that. I bought my own food which could not be easily stored in their refrigerator since there was NO room. She did not invited me to watch a movie they are watching or join them in a meal. She did however thank me for the organic cherries I bought for her.

In all, I felt like I was intruding in Irina's house where she did not make any emotional or physical space for another person to stay. Hopefully, my comments will improve this listing for other people who are coming after me.

  • We arrived tired and were warmly greeted by irina who made everything easy and comfortable. We enjoyed a night cap conversation and immediately felt like we had known Irina for years.

  • We arrived much later than expected due to car issues, but Irina was very understanding and accommodating. Thank you so much! While our stay was short, we enjoyed getting up early with Irina and her husband and preparing for the day together. From the looks of it, they cook exquisite meals from scratch every day! Quite impressive.

  • Irina and her husband welcomed us into their home with graciousness. The home was very clean and welcoming. We booked fairly last minute, and only met with them for a few moments before heading off to our event, but it was painless. When we returned later that evening, towels were on the bed for us. Thank you Irina and family for being such great people on our first Air BnB experience.

The longer I live, the more I realize how much I love to travel! Born and raised in Russia, I lived in Britain and USA and traveled around Europe extensively. I am a wanderer, romantic, idealistic, peaceful and loving person. I have a wonderful small family with one 17 y.o. son who is my best travel buddy! I love to cook, read, learn and discover.
