We offer a second room with two twin beds that is available available right across the hall. The grounds are open to weddings and events from 10-250 people, and we encourage you to tour the gardens and oak groves. Interaction with Guests
We are a family oriented retired couple who have had career success in the restaurant business. We are still active and working in the agricultural business community. We are down to earth country people who would love to help you plan a daily excursions in the Wine Country. Our area has so much to offer! From the various local wineries to the beautiful redwoods and California coastline. Our family has lived in this valley for several generations and we would be happy to give recommendations for entertainment as well as local eateries.
This property can be an awesome Farm Stay experience! On the property itself we invite you to talk part in one of the milking of our 10 cows that occurs twice daily... each & every day! We also welcome you to observe or help bottle feed one of our darling baby calves. Our other furry friends include Stanley, Lucy, and Trixie; who are the 3 outside dogs who go to work M-F. We also have Fufino, Trigg, and Troy; our 3 mostly outside cats, as well as 4 donkeys, all living on these 50 incredibly beautiful acres. The property boasts many yards of historical original drystack rock walls built during General Vallejo's ownership.
Penngrove is a sweet rural town set in the heart of the wine country. Our house is tucked away on top of Sonoma Mountain. We are told by most that our property is a Treasure of God's Country. (But we already knew that!)
Centrally located and close to countless Northern California attractions.
You must have a car to get around. Our driveway alone is one mile long! And just up the mountain from us is a secret place called 'Gravity Hill'... it's a must do, especially with children.

Did I feel welcome? I stayed only for one night and I felt totally "folded" into the very extended family....from Lynn, John and their son, to their wonderful exchange students, to the menagerie of animals! When I walked up to visit the barn, I was cheerfully followed at a distance by three dogs and two cats!
All that said, I also spent several hours alone on the back porch, reading and watching the beautiful sunset. My room was very comfortable (great shower!)...I feel I have made new friends!
Thank you so much for opening your home to me. Loved it!
My wife and I had a wonderful one night staying at Lynn and John place. Comfortable private room and bathroom and delicious breakfast. Although Lynn wasn't present, John was such great host and we had such good time with him.
Réception très chaleureuse, accueillit avec une bouteille de vin et fromage. Endroit propre, site exceptionnelle pour voir un couché de soleil, ce qui a été notre cas.
Lynn's house was beautiful and an amazing getaway for my boyfriend and I. Large house with top class kitchen and living room, great pets all around the house. The view on the mountain top is amazing and surreal. Even though Lynn wasn't there in person she was very attentive through phone and text. Thank you Lynn!
Lynn and John were great hosts and their home and property are absolutely beautiful. My husband and I felt the listing accurately described the experience, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The private room and bathroom were just what we needed - clean and comfortable. And we enjoyed our homemade breakfast with Lynn and John each morning.
The location also worked well for us, and all of our destinations throughout wine country were within a reasonable distance.
Lynn and John were great hosts. I enjoyed the sunrise (wish we had made it for sunset) and we loved learning about John and Lynn's cattle business and petting the baby cows! Comfortable private room and bathroom, delicious breakfast and both are knowledgeable about the area.
It's almost without question that this was the nicest home we've ever stayed in. Period. John and Lynn are a wonderful, charming couple, with a nice estate in the hills outside of Santa Rosa. It is a bit of a steep climb to reach them, but wow! What an amazing view! Also, the breakfast was literally homegrown eggs and bacon, nothing like it in the world! Definitely would recommend!
Both my husband John and I were born and raised on the ranch our parents were born and raised. When we got married in 1986 we decided to make our home in Penngrove, CA just 10 miles from either of our family's farm. We are raising two boys, one a senior at Cornell University in NY and a sophomore at Petaluma High School. As happy farm kids it was normal for us to have extra people at the table for dinner or weekend breakfast, so it is natural to host new friends to our home. We are parents of quite a few European kids who have spent a school year here from Austria, Italy, Germany and Norway. We have visited nearly all of them in their countries, and enjoy travel, cooking, cows and watching nature. The latter three are all enjoyed each and every day right here at home!
