Come feel like a kid again in a playful tree house, 15 minutes East of the Portland, Oregon airport. It's located at the gateway to The Gorge, on a quiet city street, walking distance to the Columbia and Washougal rivers, and nearby Amnesia brewery.
This heated, cozy tree house sleeps one to two people and is 15 minutes from the Portland Airport, in the city of Washougal. The space is within walking distance to the Washougal River, Columbia River, grocery stores, brew pubs, a few restaurants and convenient stores. It is a short drive to a lot more restaurants, movie theatre and stores. It is 30 minutes outside of downtown Portland. Access to the tree house is up a vertical ladder about 12 feet, so you must not be afraid of heights! This structure is well built, and sturdy, and is often slept in, but you must understand the inherent dangers associated with tree houses prior to your stay. This is also an adult tree house and not recommended for little kids. There is easy access to a wet bathroom, outdoor shower, fire pit, and tree swing.
Guests will have access to a shared wet bathroom, outdoor shower, patio, yard, fire pit, and tree swing.

I live on site in a studio apartment and also rent out a tiny house and my main, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 1910 home. I travel a lot but if I am around, I am happy to chat and orient you to Washougal and the Portland area. I have lived in the area for 23 years, and think it's an amazing place, so happy to suggest fun adventures and good spots for food and drink.
The house is walking distance to the Washougal and Columbia river. There are world class hiking and biking trails nearby. The tree house is located in the city of Washougal.
From the airport you can take the Max train to Parkrose transit center and then a bus out to Washougal. It is also an easy cab ride from the airport.
Kenny was an interesting person and I enjoyed talking with him. He was very helpful and friendly and I enjoyed my stay.
The treehouse living is an experience of a lifetime. It's cozy and private. My friend and I had a great time. Kenny and Aimee are very friendly. I highly recommend it!!
We loved it. Kenny and Aimee were wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome in their home and gave us great advice on where to eat and explore during our very short stay. And obviously, the treehouse was magical. We felt like friends rather than guests. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Be not afraid of spiders and steep steps and you'll really love this treehouse. Had a great night sleep in a sleeping bag and with some Christmas lights up, too.
More importantly, Kenny is exactly the reason I continue to use and host on airbnb; he's kind and thorough. His place is clean and the yard is wonderful. And, based on Kenny's reccs, I learned first-hand that Our Bar in town serves up an exceptional meal.
We stayed with Kenny last month for our last night in Portland and we had a great time! We wish we had more time in the treehouse because it was pretty awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a little out of the ordinary. It's built very well - just like a house actually - so we didn't have to worry about any unwanted 8 legged creatures coming in at night. Also, Kenny and Aimee were great hosts with lots of suggestions for restaurants and activities nearby.
What a fantastic place! Awesome host with a fun, warm, and welcoming attitude.
Location: perfect, easy to find, bunch of great places to walk to.
Host: excused our late arrival and was very friendly an thorough in showing us around and making us comfortable.
Treehouse: WOW! If you are even considering going anywhere else in the area, stop wasting time and book this right this every minute! You'll be so very glad that you did. Impressively well built, spacious, and comfy. There is a bunk bed with comfy blankets, a table, and a shelf with a wonderful variety of interesting books, lights, and plug outlets. And, of course, I cannot forget to mention the lovely balcony, the easy, wide stairs, and the basket to pull items up in. The restroom in the house is steps away and private.
We cannot wait to stay here again! Thanks for the awesome visit! :)

I have lived in this area since 1992. I grew up in Colorado. Moved out to the Pacific Northwest to be near the Columbia River Gorge. For fun I spend a lot of time adventuring in the outdoors and building things.
