Excellent location - close to local markets and tram station; well-organized written instructions detailing the neighborhood and restaurant recommendations with maps; warm and hospitable family, attentive to our needs; compact and cozy studio apartment for two; enjoyed immensely one full week; wish we could stay for longer.
We loved staying in Gwen's apartment and meeting her and her lovely family. The apartment is compact, but an ideal base for exploring all the lovely areas around Nice.
Gwen has a beautiful, little apartment in a neat neighborhood of Nice. Everything was very accommodating and clean, with lovely view from the roof windows. Gwen provided with great eating suggestions in the area around the apartment, which we tried and were very happy for. Only small note was very tiny bathroom (had to use toilet pot "side-ways").
The place is very cute. As studio/jr. one bdms go it's charming and has a fun view out the dormer windows. The location is great and Gwen was helpful letting us know what was near. Everything went smoothly and as expected.
My husband and I have just returned from 4 nights in Nice, staying in this delightful room in a delightful part of town! It was clean and comfortable, and although bijoux, my husband who is 6 foot 5" didn't have any problems. Sebastian was waiting for us on our arrival and there was plenty of information on what to do in Nice. Most importantly the apartment block felt very safe! We regularly walked into the centre of Nice - took around 20 minutes - and the tram is very accessible, just 2 stops. But there is plenty of life around the apartment, fruit and veg market, restaurants, and we took a lovely walk up through the university which is housed in some exquisite grounds, en route to the Matisse Museum. There are also 2 supermarkets in very close vicinity. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!
From start to finish, this was an amazing experience. Our arrival was slightly delayed and Gwen met us down the block from the apartment to show us where it was. There was coffee/tea/juice in the apartment, the air conditioner had already been turned on (it was a hot day out) and everything was as clean as could be.
Gwen's recommendations for food and activities were all excellent and we ate almost exclusively from her suggestions for the week, except of course when we cooked in the apartment. There is a non-touristy market every day but Monday only a 5 minute walk away. Amazing produce at extremely cheap prices, almost all of it grown in the surrounding area. About half our dinners and lunches were prepared from this food (supplemented by the small supermarket around the corner).
The location of the apartment could not be better. It is close enough to the old town that getting down to the beach is no problem (10 minutes or less on the tram) and the train station is only two tram stops away, walkable if the weather is nice. The neighborhood has a really friendly quality to it and you will often find yourself the only tourist on the block or in a restaurant. It was quiet with tons of greenery around too.
Overall, if you couldn't tell, I can not recommend you stay here highly enough - I only hope that Gwen's apartment is available the next time I decide to go to Nice, and I'll definitely be back!
Gwen and Seb's apartment is a lovely cosy place with all the amenities you could possibly want on a holiday. They were very friendly and accommodating hosts, answering all our questions in a timely manner (and were very understanding about our rather erratic check-out arrangements!).
The apartment itself is in a superb location in Nice - everything is within walking distance (it's about a 15-20 minute walk from the beach), and it's nicely tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood with a beautiful view. It's not a huge place, but it was big enough for us to relax there, and even prepare food (though the work surfaces aren't that big!).
Also - we loved the tiny lift!
Gwen and her family were so kind and welcoming! The little flat was well equip with everything you need and has a great view of the city. We truly enjoyed out stay and I look forward to returning again soon. Gwen was Rey kind in helping us navigate the city and recommended wonderful restaurants during our stay.
my vacation in Nice was perfect - the weather, the people, sightseeing and shopping - and furthermost the accomodation! gwen and her husband are superb hosts and the room is cozy and located perfectly! it was very welcoming and clean; I'll return there for sure!
We had a lovely stay in this little studio in Nice. Gwen and her husband were so nice and very helpful with any needs and information that we needed. It was a perfect base to explore Nice and the surrounding areas.
