About This Listing
An hour north of San Francisco, house is in a charming country setting with stunning views- yet only 5 minutes from downtown Sebastopol. You will enjoy the peacefulness of country living close to trails, and a short drive to local beaches & wineries.
Take time to relax in the hot tub after a bike ride through the local vineyards and apple orchards or after a 10 minute walk to the local, well reviewed Taft Street Winery for wine tasting. Make sure to take time in the evening to sit on the wraparound deck, take in the beautiful view and enjoy the sunset behind the distant hills.
The open kitchen is spacious, organized and filled with afternoon sunlight.
Much of the house is eco-friendly, with cork floors, wool carpets, and 100% cotton bedding.
My house is warm, clean, organized, well- loved and lived in.
And because this is my family home (we live here when it's not rented), I ask only guests interested in taking care of it consider staying here. Wild parties aren't a match here. Thank you.
Sorry, no TV
The approx 1600 sq. ft house sits on .75 acres and guests have access to the upper half of it while our neighbors enjoy the lower half.
Interaction with Guests
I will be meeting you to give you the key.
Some things I love about my neighborhood include the open sky, the view, the rural feel, the nearby working family farm, the apple orchards, the long narrow single lane road approaching the property. Ok, the vineyards too :)
Like our neighbors, we are on well water that although filtered can contain more minerals than city water.
Use of 4 bicycles included -- 2 adults and 2 kids sized
Guests can walk to the very popular Underwood and Willowood restaurants in Graton (40 minutes - some uphill). It's also a very short walk to Taft winery and a 5 minute drive to downtown Sebastopol.
Other Things to Note
The bed setup:
- Queen bed in master bedroom with attached private bath.
- Two twin bed bunk beds in private bedroom.

Would love if dirty shoes stayed off the carpet and food off the couches :)
Denise's communication prior to our arrival was spot on - timely, concise, and to-the-point. We felt very at home, especially with the gorgeous sunset views overlooking the valley.
Denise was a great host. She was communicative and clear. The listing was accurate. The place is very close to town, but feels like way out in the country. Great combination for a relaxing long weekend. Nice touches like ground Peet's coffee beans in the freezer. Would stay there again.
I share great appreciation for Denise and her family allowing us to stay in her home. We could not of had the family gathering and her unknown contribution to my son's wedding and family re-uniting without the use of her home. As it turned out I was juggling family, friends, groomsmen and some other of the wedding guest. Though I ended up sleeping elsewhere, we had family time around the kitchen table and my sister-in law, brother, ex-sister-in-law, their two daughters and two of the wee grandkids stayed. There was privacy, and a spot for every one-and then some if we had needed it. Some of this group lives in Idaho, the other part California. One of my nieces shared being near tears at the opportunity to see her beloved half sister and spend some quality time together. I told them they could figure out who got the twin and who would get the queen loft. It was like a big sleep over /slumber party. The sisters, both being adults spent sister time in the hot tub with wine in hand- joyous for both of them. My brother and his wife had the spacious Master Bedroom. Even his ex-wife was there, all being friendly after numerous years - but it was nice to give her the separate room, with the patio entrance right off it. One night, the other two of my brother's grandkids came over, and they got to spend quality cousin time together, while the parents got a "date" night. As many of us recognize, family bonding becomes more difficult now-a-days- not like when I was growing up. There was no issue with not having a TV-lots of games and just enjoying being there was a blessing for my family. Remarkable memories would not of occurred if people had had to go to a motel. My family were also excellent Wedding Slave Minions, using Denise's kitchen, pots, refrigerator and being able to conveniently take care of anything I needed. I appreciate Denise realizing we had left a table and letting me know. The convenience of Denise's home being in Sebastopol was such a plus, as On Saturday the Wedding was at the Rose & Thorn, Sunday a brunch at Charlie's in Windsor, and Monday we did vintage 1920's dress-up and went on the Napa Valley Wine Train Gourmet Express Lunch. How nice after that to retire to a pleasant home with such loving vibrations emanating from it while cruising through such beautiful scenery. We can't say thank you enough. May you continue to grow joyful memories for you and other's in your home. I wish I could post pictures right here, but as Denise knows I sent her some of the wedding pictures to share our joy. Hugs to you Denise, hoping I actually get to give you a real one sometime!
The house was convenient and super cute--it had everything we needed for our weekend stay and was convenient to all of the wineries we had planned to visit in Sonoma. Although we didn't travel with kids, the children's bunk beds and all the games looked like they'd be so much fun for a family! Overall, a great stay and we'd definitely recommend!
This was my best airbnb experience ever!! I rented the whole house for the weekend with my daughter and her bridesmaids. Since this was a destination wedding, it was extremely helpful to have this spacious house that could accommodate all of us. It gave us the space and flexibility we needed to prep for the wedding and then crash there afterwards. Denise was super easy to communicate with, before, during, and after our stay there. We never met in person, but we emailed, texted, and talked on the phone. She is a generous, flexible, and understanding person. She had a thoughtful welcome basket set out for us and she left us with clear instructions about the house. The house was beautiful, clean, and well organized. It's in a beautiful area. I would definitely recommend it to others!!
P.S. Our GPS apparently needs updating because it tried to direct us down the wrong private road, but we found her place in any case. (Thankfully, there's a sign posted at that point that says the turn for Cider Springs is further down the road.)
My friends and I loved Denise's house in Sebastopol and we highly recommend it!
The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful -- think dogs wandering up and down the street and grape vines along the street -- and the town of Sebastopol is nearby and really cool. The house is very comfortable, the hot tub is great, and we loved cooking in the well stocked kitchen.
All the information in the listing is accurate, and Denise responded to questions very quickly and was extremely kind. We all left wanting to come back.

About the Host, Denise
I have been very lucky in life, getting the chance to travel and live in dozens of international countries. Travel and really living internationally has been my truest passion besides my love of people and all their diversities. I grew up in Palo Alto, California and now have landed in the beautiful wine country of Sebastopol.
I can get around with my passable Kindergarten level Spanish and I also speak a tiny bit of Bahasa Indonesian.
I've become a bit of an Airbnb nerd of late. I really believe the world is a better place because of all this. My world continues to grow...
