The space
The house offers a large bonus room for media, books, adult and kid games or taking in morning coffee by large view windows. There's a full-size desk. Strongest Wifi in the area with Mesh Network. We have some fun outdoor surprises to entertain kids. Each room furnished with memory foam beds.

You'll see some one-of-kind details, from the live-edge floating shelves and mantle, to the handmade iron sconces over the wood burning stove and the custom hanging soffit over the countertop. The bathroom wood vanity was hand-carved from a butcher block found in an antique shop in the central valley.

The surrounding landscape is rustic in nature and provides for a beautiful backdrop to the often seen, beautiful sunset views.

Guest access
This is a 5 acre property that used to serve as a horse ranch years ago. For this booking, you will have access to the entire main house and full premises.
Need to accommodate more guests? You can book the main house along with our carriage house that is located on the same property. Go to https://airbnb.com/h/moonranchandlittlemoon for more information and to book.
Note: The carriage house will NOT be booked by a separate party. If only the main house is booked the carriage house will remain vacant so you'll have access to the entire property.

Other things to note
-Accommodates up to 8 adults in the Main House and 4 in the Carriage House
-Being in the mountains you should expect spotty phone signals. Before arrival, consider contacting your mobile phone provider and ask Wifi Calling be switched on for better phone service. Otherwise iOS FaceTime could work.
-Landline available for emergencies and local calls only.
-Insects and wildlife: You are in nature and should expect to be surrounded by it, including insects and wildlife. We do our best to keep them out of the house but they will find their way in from time-to-time. Please keep doors shut to help prevent critters indoors. It is highly suggested to use caution when walking outdoors. Never go barefoot! Protective shoes are always recommended.

Neighborhood highlights

A lovely scenic drive into Yosemite National Park. Located in between the west gate and south gate. Just 33.9 miles to the park entrance and 45 miles to the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center from the west gate.

Mariposa, its name is Spanish for "butterfly", after the flocks of monarchs seen overwintering there by early explorers. The town of Mariposa, first settled in 1849, is the southernmost in the Gold Rush chain of towns. The streets follow the original street grid laid out by John C. Fremont in 1850. Several disastrous early fires convinced settlers to rebuild with stone, brick and adobe. Consequently, many of today’s existing structures in the historic downtown had been built by the late 1850s, with most of the remaining ones completed by 1900. Because they have always been in use, the old buildings haven’t had to be restored or recreated.

Change has come gracefully to Mariposa. Mariposa has retained the small town charm of a bygone era, so you won’t see strip malls or chain stores, and Mariposa remains one of a handful of California towns without a stop light.

Like many, I fell in love with Yosemite as a kid. As an adult, after my first backpacking trip up Half Dome, I just knew I needed to connect even more with this magical place. Thus our home purchase. We put our hearts & souls into the design and layout of our home. Now, with 2 young kids, we all get to enjoy the wonders of Yosemite year round. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do, and that Yosemite's magic gets in your blood. We'd love to host you again and again :)
