About This Listing
The second floor apartment (no lift/elevator) is approximately 45m2 and has a cozy living/dining room with open kitchen, one bedroom and a bathroom that is accessed through the bedroom. There is free WiFi throughout the entire apartment and there is a modern central heating system.
The combined living/dining room has a sofa/bed for 2 persons (140x200cm), dining table with 4 chairs, and flat screen cable tv.
The steel design kitchen is fully equipped with toaster, coffee maker, oven, microwave, dishwasher, cooker(gas) and refrigerator.
The compact bedroom has a one-and-a-half-place (120x200cm) bed that sleeps 1 or 2 persons. The bedroom has two build-in closets.
The simple bathroom comes with a shower, toilet, washing machine and hair dryer.
The street level access door is shared with two neighbors after which a typical Amsterdam style steep staircase takes you to the second floor with private entrance to the apartment. You will have full and exclusive access to the entire apartment.
We live a few streets away and we will receive you personally to handover the keys and we'll explain the use of tv, wifi, heating, washing machine etc.
Check-in time is from 14.00 but flexible if agreed in advance. Checkout is at 11.00 but can also be flexible if the arrival time of the next visitors permits.
As said we live a few streets away so you will have the apartment to yourself but you can always call or message us if you need help or advise.
Our neighborhood 'De Pijp' one of the most popular in Amsterdam for its central location, the Albert Cuyp street market, plenty of restaurants and bars and little shops.
Start your day early at the corner coffee bar and see the street filling with people and bikes while you enjoy your coffee with a nice muffin or - a personal favourite - the millionaire's shortbread.
Get some groceries at the supermarket around the corner or even better at the famous Albert Cuyp streetmarket with every day fresh fish, vegetables and flowers. Stroll the market for some clothing or souvenirs and get some typical 'Dutch' street food such as poffertjes, stroopwafels, fries (patat) with mayonnaise (or get a 'patatje oorlog met uitjes' if you really want to go local). If you'd like to do some more luxury shopping then just walk 10 mins to the P.C. Hooftstraat (Chanel, Hermes, etc) or the somewhat more affordable Utrechtsestraat. Art and antiques lovers will also enjoy the adjacent neighborhood the Spiegelkwartier with over 70 specialized galleries and dealers.
If you are ready for some more culture and art it is just a 5 minute walk to the Museum Plein (museum square) with the Rijksmuseum (Dutch masters Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals), the Van Gogh museum and the (modern) Stedelijk museum as well as the Royal Concerthall.
After sniffing some culture it is time to get some fresh air lying on the Museum square grass or strolling the Vondelpark where you will see the full diversity of Amsterdam city life.
Head back to your temporary home away from home and take a nap or just a quick shower before hitting some of the many bars and restaurants all at walking distance.
Tip! Checkout our Guidebook in the Maps section where we have added these and plenty of other places to visit that we think are worth wile.
Really Amsterdam is best done on foot or by bike. There is a Halfords store with bike rental just 2 blocks away.
Public transport is also around the corner with several tram lines closeby connecting to Central Station (12min), Dam square (10min), Leidseplein (5 min), Rembrandt plein (5 min), Jordaan (15min) and Red light district (10 min).
Parking is expensive in Amsterdam and your car is of little use in the inner city. There is relatively cheap indoor municipal parking (approx 8 EUR per 24 hours, max 96 hours) with camera surveillance at several locations in the outskirts of Amsterdam. Search "Park and Ride Amsterdam" on the internet for more information.
Please note that the verified pictures made by AirBnB (we love them, thank you AirBnB!!) are made with a wide-angle camera which makes the place seem just a little bit bigger than it is.
The access door at street level is shared with two neighbors after a steep staircase (typical Amsterdam style) takes you to the second floor with private entrance of the apartment. You will have full and exclusive access to the entire apartment

Stroll in the market for some souvenirs and clothes or prueva some typical delicacies 'Dutch' as poffertjes, stroopwafels, chips (sauce) with mayonnaise (or a 'oorlog patatje with uitjes' if you really want to feel dutch). If you want some luxury shops just a 10 minute walk to the PC Hooftstraat, and see: Chanel, Hermes, etc. Or more accessible Utrechtsestraat. The art and antiques lovers can also enjoy the area adjacent to the Royal Canal more than 70 specialized distributors and galleries.
If you are ready for a bit of culture and art is just 5 minutes walk from Plein Museum (Museum Square), with the Rijksmuseum (Home holandese museum with Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals), Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum modern and the Royal Concert Hall.
