Good space for three people. Nice quiet neighborhood. Awesome outdoor spaces.
Elies was great, from telling us about the house in advance, to meeting us at the house & making sure everything was going OK once we arrived. He even came by one evening when we mentioned that there were ants in the smaller studio (a typical California problem), spraying the outside and inside with non-toxic spray. He also had a top-notch cleaning crew in place, who left the house spotless for us when we arrived, and had put in small touches, like soap/shampoo in the bathroom and lots of coffee!
The house itself was fantastic. The upstairs had a living room, family room, full kitchen, a sunroom with a huge dining table and a smaller sunroom with breakfast bar. The kitchen was well appointed, with a huge fridge, gas stove, microwave and oven. The bedrooms in the main house do have a unique layout: the smaller bedroom is only accessible by the larger one. The larger bedroom has a queen bed, a door to the outside and a spiral staircase that leads up to the main floor upstairs. The smaller bedroom connects to the larger one both through a direct door, and through a shared bathroom. This did require some creativity in sleeping arrangements. The second, separate studio is a small room with a fold out bed and a small bathroom, a few steps from the main house.
The grounds of the house are stunning: a lush garden setting with a dry riverbed down below the house. The grounds are well kept and were a pleasure to walk through, with small lawn spaces for our kids to play. The neighborhood and location was also great, as it was exactly 1mi to downtown Palo Alto, and just a little over that to Stanford campus. It was lovely to be able to walk into town along University Drive. When leaving the area, the 101 was easy to access for direct route to San Francisco.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay, and would stay at this location again!
Amazing! I will tell my friend this is good and beautiful place to stay
This home is nestled amongst lush greenery and flowers. It's clean, crisp and cozy. The layout is funky but fun. The cottage is a great option for those who want more privacy. The house is close to the HWY and to downtown Palo Alto.
Elies went above and beyond to make us comfortable during our trip. He was an exceptional host.
The home is set amidst beautiful gardens on a quiet cul de sac. It is nicely appointed and Elies made sure we had everything we needed.
Note that the guest cottage was very small and one of the two "bedrooms" in the main house did not actually have a door. This was fine for my family, but may be uncomfortable for groups of friends.
Host was very accommodating and helpful. The cleaning person was still there when we arrived for check in--and we arrived pretty late--around 7 pm. There was a bit of an ant issue in the separate studio and the layout was a bit funky for sharing with work colleagues.
That said, it's a pretty cool space and very well appointed. Super comfy beds and a great location in PA.
Loved our stay in Palo Alto at Elies's lovely home! The garden was in full bloom and the grounds truly are enchanting.
