You will LOVE this amazing home in this spectacular location! Moloa'a is the old Hawai'i you are searching for. This is truly something special!
We had a great stay at Jade Lilly- the house is beautiful and roomy with a large kitchen/ living area. Several quiet reading nooks and daybeds outside on the porches. The 5 minute kayak ride to the beach is fun, and the beach is beautiful and feels almost private- very few people. It was stormy during most our stay so we didn't spend any time in the water there, but it's a cool spot. Having 4WD (or all WD) turned out to be a good thing b/c we had a fair amount of rain during our February visit- the road in does indeed get muddy and a 2 WD might have had trouble.
We had a wonderful time. Everyone in our party felt the location was very quaint and very New Mexican. Jessica contacted me before our stay and while we were at the location to make sure everything was going well. The casita was clean and things were easy to find. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking pots and pans, and utensils. We made use of the toaster oven and microwave. The Love Apple restaurant was within walking distance and definitely worth the visit. We were able to go to the Alsup's down the street to buy wood, and we had lovely fires at night which added to the atmosphere. We will definitely go back to Sister Special when we are in Taos again.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Sister Rio. Both units are well-equipped and convenient to town and to the ski valley. We were able to use the kitchen to cook breakfast and dinner, as well as wash several loads of laundry. In addition, our family dog was able to enjoy the snow in the enclosed yard.
I'd highly recommend eating at Taos Pizza Outback and getting a massage at Essential Massage around the corner.
We reserved our equipment at Adventure Ski Rentals, but I'd recommend renting on the mountain for a more cost-efficient option.
Jessica was easy to communicate with prior to the visit, and we were able to briefly meet her upon checkin.
We hope to return again soon!
Thank you for a wonderful visit!
We rented out both units--Sisters Casita & Casito Rio. The property is very close to shops and restaurants. It's about a 30 minute drive up to Taos Ski Valley. The casitas are nicely decorated and cared for.
Casita Rio (front unit):
-non en-suite bathroom
-small living room/common area
Sisters Casita (back unit):
-bathroom is en-suite (must go through bedroom to access)
-larger common area/living room
I recommend that the owner's put up some mirrors at the end of the driveway because it's a very tough, blind left turn to get out!
Thanks for sharing your place with us!
My family and I had a wonderful time at the Casita Morada. The location was great. We were able to walk to the town square easily. The house met all of our expectations and more. Thank You!
This cabin is fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others stay here. I loved learning about the history of the surrounding estate and getting a view of Taos from the same place that many artists have. The amount of space is more than generous for two people, and all of the necessary comforts are there. The location is great for exploring Taos. We didn't find that the bathroom being detached was too much of a problem; the little wall heater in the bathroom kept it warm despite the cold temps outside. In all, we had a really great stay. Highly recommended.
Place was superb! We enjoyed our stay so much. The home is so comfy and inviting. Loved every minute of it and look forward to coming back to visit again sometime. If and when you visit, you have to check out the Taos Mesa Brewery. AWESOME place with awesome food, beverages and entertainment.
Great location in Taos. It wasn't easy to find (no visible street number). We couldn't find the key (it wasn't where it was supposed to be) and had a little trouble getting help with that (the owner was traveling) but it all worked out (second owner helped find it). The Sister Casita is very solid and quiet inside, great for sleeping, even though close to a car wash and the main road. It was generally clean, and felt slightly neglected. We're experienced with fireplaces but the fireplace smoked up the place the first night due to strong winds, so we didn't try to have a fire during our stay. The fireplace in the bedroom does not work. The shower is very good- and, we were glad we brought soap with us. The towels were fantastic.
A perfect place to experience old Taos. The school house had everything needed including a kitchen prep area that made our stay feel like home away from home. It was evident great care had been bestowed upon the building. We enjoyed the original artwork on display as well. Since the home looks out upon Taos Pueblo land and from the yard there is a wonderful view of the mountain. The property is adjacent to the Mabel Dodge Luhan compound and makes for a great photo op location. Would love to stay again. Thank you Jessica.
